Hi! I’m new here, have had issues with Ibrance lowering wbc dangerously low. We’ve tried lowering the dose now to 100mg, but my body can’t safely handle that for two weeks. So, my Onc is trying me on 1wk on 1wk off, two weeks on per month.
Wondering, has anyone else tried a Schedule like this? I’m having all of side effects and still very run down on this schedule. Curious if there were any other ways of safely taking this medication!! Thanks for any response!

I’ve not had that schedule, but my dosage went from 125 to 100 to 75 in just 3 months. I’m stable on 75 and it’s worked for two years. I still get tired but don’t have any other side effects. My neutrophils drop down but not so low I can’t continue taking the drug on the normal schedule. Elaine
Thank you! I’m seeing my Dr. Wednesday and will ask if the lower dose for longer periods of time would be better.
I took Ibrance like this for almost 3 months. Like you Ibrance knocked my neutrophils down to as low as 0.3 and it took 3 weeks off to bring them back up. Sadly this didn’t work for me and I have had progression and start chemo next week. I was never able to take Ibrance as it is supposed to be taken.
Just lowered to 75mg and due to ongoing neutropenia, was supposed to try 14 days on/7 days off. But after 14 days on, I had to stop since my ANC dropped to 400. It usually takes me 20 days before my neutrophils come up over 1000 to start again. The next dosing schedule my doctor wants me to try is 5 days on/2 days off - test after 14 days. If that doesn’t keep ANC above 700, then I’ll try every other day. I’ll be interested to hear how 7 days on/7 days off schedule works for you. Good luck!
Hi, I'm on 75mg 3 weeks on and 2 weeks off which is working well since January, started Ibrance in September and took until January/Feb to sort out dose and timing due to low neutrophils, and scan stable.
My dosage was lowered to 100mg with 3 weeks on, 2 weeks off because of low plattelet counts. I think the onc has flexibility with scheduling but also keeping the efficacy of the drug.
mets dx July 2015. Ibrance 125mg in Aug 2015. 100 mg in Sep 2015. 75mg in Dec 2015. remained on 75mg. Ibrance schedule as of 2017 or 18?: on 14 days, off 14 days. NEAD March 2016.
Welcome to the board. It's a great place to ask questions and to scream and rant when needed. I have taken Ibrance as suggested by Pfizer. I don't work or have children at home. Ask the oncologist if the efficacy of Ibrance has been proven by taking it differently. It has been quite a while but the last I knew the 5/2 and other methods were in the petri dish and had not been tested in trials by humans. Tests can work well in a test tube or petri dish but not do well in humans. They may have done human testing by now though. I hope they have. It seems like it would be easier on all of us. There is nothing good about cancer except pulling the cancer card occasionally and getting what you want. The best to you and please come back. Blessings Hannah
I found out from on here doing vitamins b12..helped me..I had to be tested for a month because of that fact..I had accidentally got the wrong vitamin, with less vitamins b12..
As I have posted before, I was uncomfortable with starting Ibrance at 125 mg 3 wks on, 1 off. With my oncologist's blessing, I devised my own regimen and I started with 75 mg one week on, one off, then I increased to two wks on, one off and now I am finishing the 3 wks on one off at 75 mg. I had no side effects and my blood is good. I asked my oncologist whether I should now do the same thing with 100 mg but she said that since I am doing so well with the 75 mg I should stay at this level, 3 wks on, one off. Should there be side effects, I can go down to 2 wks on and one off. But this way, I thought I would acclimate my body to the Ibrance, gradually. And so far, I see it is working.
Wow. As a first time poster, I had no idea if anyone would even respond. THANK YOU ALL. Your messages have given me many things to ask my doctor about tomorrow - I have been concerned about the efficacy taking the 100mg this way. Going to do more reading in the forums to hopefully not be too redundant with my questions.
I started at 125mg and had problems with thrush and low neutrophils. Would have to take an extra week off. Went to 100 and have been on 75 for over a year. I'm on a 5/2 schedule, my neutrophils are low but within the normal range, and my cancer is in remission. I also take Xgeva for bone mets on the spine; the mets are also gone. Try 75 on a 5/2 schedule.
