Practice social distancing. If you want or feel you need to take the test (if you feel you have symptoms, hospitals here in NY test you first to make sure it's the virus as opposed to allergies, etc. bc they do not have time to treat people who DO NOT have the virus).
This is how far up the nose they must put the Q-tip. People that have had to take the test done in NY and NJ are claiming it is the most unpleasant experience and it feels like they are putting it up so far that it is close to touching their brain.
You will only need to be tested if you are not practicing social distancing and may feel like you have symptoms. So to avoid this, listen to what they say, EVEN if right now, you are not living in NY or NJ. Because it will and can move to other states as quickly as it did here in NY, but if other states are putting restrictions in place NOW, they can avoid what we here in NY were not prepared for.
We now have the unwanted distinction of being NY being the state that has had more people die and infected than anywhere else in the world. You hear it (before it got much attention here in NY) and then you hear of one person in NY that got it and thinking Oh, isn't that strange bc he had not traveled. And then in a matter of 26 days, it spread to thousands, all starting with that one man in New Rochelle. They never did figure out how he got it because he had not traveled at all.
I know I do not want the test so I am doing everything I am told, even though by the time this is over, I will be as crazy as the Mad Hatter.
I am going to attend virtual services at St. Patrick's in NYC. Cardinal Dolan is the best and I need to hear some reassurance of hope and faith which I need now.
The only good thing that will come out of this is that people who normally worry about what they are cooking, making baskets for their kids, buying an outfit to wear to visit relatives, now will be forced to stay at home with their immediate family and get to spend time with them that normally they would not. So you kind of hope and think, that they will spend more time this year reflecting on God and what Easter really means, and hopefully, having more discussions with their children than they have had while working.
My friend from SI I mentioned previously said that in a way, depending on how you look at events such as this, and try to find a silver lining. She is now working at home (as a legal secretary) and told me she is getting to spend more quality time with her daughter who will be turning 18 in October. Time that she would not have had if this virus had not stopped people in their track and daily lives.
