Hi ladies. As promised this is to let you know I’ve had my Denosumab jab and collected my Ibrance today. My hospital was near on empty. We walked the 4miles to get there and back avoiding public transport. I also asked if my Ibrance would be posted if they were not taking outpatients next month and the answer was no because it’s Chemotherapy. So watch this space. Liverpool City Centre was empty and Police were very evident. We even saw a big Police van pull up and ask a couple where they were going. I hope you are ok today ladies. Let’s hope we can still get our treatment the next few months. Hope Barbteeth has had a good treatment day today.
Glad all went well today ... the waiting room did look deserted! Did you ask whether you could have extra supplies of Ibrance? ( and then just do bloods ...maybe at GP?).Take care x
Our GP surgery is closed.Just phone consultations. So I will still have to have my blood test the day before treatment.
I asked if my treatment of Ibrance could be posted next month and they said no as it’s Chemotherapy. I was so dissapointed but I have four weeks before my next appointment so have to deal with “what is” for now. Such a concern for us all.

I had my Denosumab injection done in the car park. The nurse also brought my tablets out to me.
I’m in North Wales, so not far from you. Maybe mention this to your department.
They won’t give me more than one months supply of Palbo either.
I have just arranged for my end of April bloods to be done at my GP practice locally for the first time , instead of my town’s hospital’s chemo ward . I was surprised you were treated in the car park ! ...but maybe safer that way at present !
I go to the town hospital next Monday for my bloods doing in the chemo ward and I have been told to get bloods forms from there to give to my GP practice . I have asked if chemo ward can give me 2 months supply of Ibrance on Monday , while I am there . I am told it will depend on whether the hospital pharmacy has enough supplies in to give extra .
Are you staying on Palbo/ ibrance at the present time ? I am unless told otherwise, as at present if you come off it here, no guarantee can go back on it ( but I was told protocols are changing daily , so could still change ) .
I had some unexpected good news today via phone ... my ct scan I had done a week ago ,shows I am still “ stable” ! (My last ct scan had been 8 months ago ) .I didn’t expect it to be read so soon , as normally min 2 weeks , but I think they are getting on top of things before the virus takes hold in our town ( we have 20 reported / detected cases here , but rising quite quickly in some parts of my county and getting bad in London , where even Prince Charles and Boris Johnson, our PM , have got it (albeit mild at present) .
Take care everyone on here ! Sending you all good wishes x
👏👏👏👏👏to NHS and all the wonderful medics , research and support staff everywhere . x
Wonderful news on being stable. A big sigh of relief for you.
The gp surgeries are pretty quiet and taking as many precautions as they can. I was told to ring when I arrive in the car park for my next bloods and they will call me when the nurse is ready, so I can go straight into her room. I would book the first appointment of the day if I were you.
I am staying on Palbo/Let for now, but my nurse did say thing were changing daily, so wait and see.
👏 👏 with you. It was lovely hearing all the claps and cheers last night. I live in a hamlet with not many neighbours, but could hear the next village (very close).
Yes , I have the first appointment of the day at 8.45 am at my GP practice
They said that the doors are locked now and only phlebotomy patients are being seen there with the nurse . So a bit happier that I don’t have to walk across a big hospital late April .
Keep in touch if you have any changes to your palbo ...And take extra care ! x
Have you checked if your GP practice is open for phlebotomy ( bloods) , as our practice is also now closed but can arrange urgent blood appointments via phone . x
Are you able to ring up phlebotomy to pre book the earliest slot? ( and tell them you’re extremely vulnerable to the virus as on a chemo type of treatment .) x
I will find out if I can. Worth a go although it’s virtually impossible to get an answer from anyone at the moment. I took two blood pressure pills instead of one Thursday. Divvy day. Anyway hubby dialled 111 and it was a 3 hour wait. I called my GP then. They called back within an hour. That was because I needed advice so I doubt I will have any luck with Phlebotomy at the hospital. I will think positive and give it a go. Thanks
I had cancelled my appt. for blood work, onco and injections bc they suddenly shut down schools and the news about it spreading quick scared everybody. My onco called and said I really need to come in for injections and see her so I rescheduled for 4/2. I am much calmer than I was two weeks ago but I do not drive and I get free private car service to and from the center so I will just wear disposable gloves I have and carry my hand sanitizer.
They are working at 1/2 staff and I would imagine (since she said so many patients cancelled) that the reception area which is super large will be much less congested bc of this. So I am going in. (At this point, it is an event even to get out and go to cancer center). Plus she mentioned they take temperature before letting anybody in. But I live alone and have not gone outside and am feeling okay so I am calmer now.
So I will go to my appt. on 4/2 at 1:40 pm and then on 4/6, I have an appt. with my nutritionist in which I may cancel that bc I have not kept a food diary during these times and I think my pain specialist (who writes me the percocet) will understand why I cancelled going to the physical therapy center. You have to follow their protocol to continue to get the meds but I think she will understand and agree with my cancelling my physical therapy bc I went there the first time and people are so close and I did not notice them cleaning any of the machines although I was shown exercises I can do at home.
As nervous or worried as you are you must have your jabs. I was literally petrified as are so many other people but Im in much less pain because of my jab and am happy I had it done. Don’t stress to much lovely lady. Your Oncologist wouldn’t put you at risk.
