Having a two month break from chemo and have be put on Fulvstrant on a temporary basis. I have noticed joint and back pain. Have just had total body and CT scan with good results so know it is not new tumours. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this side effect? Many thanks, Ruth

Hi Ruth,

I just started Fulvestrant ( I was on Letrozole and Ibrance for 18 months) and have noticed joint and back pain but it is alleviated by ibuprofen.

I have been on Fulvestrant since March. I have not had joint and back pain. My side effects vary from month to month. You might notice bruising at the injection sites, pain for a few days at the injection sites, itching for a few days and hardness underneath the skin. Good luck with your monthly shots.

I've been on for 6 years! Joint pain is a normal side effect. If I walk everyday, it goes down to zero. Ibuprofen is a quicker way to relief!

Hi diamags! Six years! That's awesome! Is that your first or second line treatment? I am encouraged by long-term effectiveness... :)

First line, pre-Ibrance! Anastrozole and Faslodex have been my friends

I have had some joint pain too. Not bad, just annoying.

Feel better.

Thanks for the reply.

I have some back and joint pain with Faslodex but my body seem to tolerate it much better than the letrozole , the pain / discomfort is manageable. It Seems these medications effect all of us so differently . I recently started doing Physiotherapy and have really found it beneficial .

Yes! I just had first shot and feel like flu. Body aches and pains and NO energy. I hope it's temporary while adjusting.
