Radiation

My MBC is to the hip bone. Just wondering if others have had problems with healing radiation burns. I had 15 radiation treatments which finished on Oct. 9th. Now, 6 weeks later, though mostly healed, there are 2 or 3 open sores that just won't heal or they heal over and get opened again. I have large breasts and the wounds are on the underside, plus the breast is swollen and painful. (even with pain meds.) Has anyone had this experience or suggestions? I guess I am wondering if it will heal or if having surgery is a good answer. Anyone had surgery to remove the tumour in this situation? How long is the recovery from surgery for a partial mastectomy. Just finished my first month of Fasoldex and Ibrance. Ok so far.

Cheers, June S.

My shoulder burn during radiation n they give me some creams. However, it was still bother me so my cousin told me that she got burned really bad in Mexico with the sun. The ppl in the restaurant told her to put some slice tomatoes in the area till the next day and she did it.

Well guess what I did it too and it did help me. If u do please use organic one. Your skin will dry out the tomatoes and they will get warm!!!!

I have double mastectomy. It took 2 months to recover in my case. I recently have another surgery to reduce implants bc my back hurt so bad n alot scar tissue. I glad I reduced them.

Hi, June! Confused by your post. Did you have radiation to hip where your only met is located? It sounds like your chest was radiated and, if so, why? Prayers for your healing! 🙏🏻❤️ Linda

Fresh Aloe can be applied to speed healing. If you don't have a plant to cut a leaf from, most grocery stores now carry cut leaves in the produce department. Slice the leaf open, and scrape the gel into a container. The pure gel is what you want, and a little goes a long way, just smooth it on. Keep the rest of the gel in the fridge for a few days, or you can freeze it in an ice cube tray and take them out as needed. You can put it on as often as you wish. You might want to consider getting a pair of Strapless Rabbit Breast Lift Tape to help keep the area under your breast from staying too moist. The tomato mentioned in another post can also be used, but they are too acidic for some people. If you want to try that, test a slice on an area like the inside of your elbow to make sure your skin isn't too sensitive for it.
