Perhaps if enough of us were to contact the mgt of this site about being allowed to post more photos? What do you think ladies?

Sounds lie a plan 😀

I have to respectfully disagree. We are all able to post photos when we want and I think the occasional photos are fine and I enjoy them, but the point of most of our posts should be about our health. If we start filling the feed with social items rather than medical items, I don’t think this forum will be as useful.

I get your point...I know I’ve put a few pics on here and it is also a site for health issues but then why not?..we are human and I like to see ladies photos...makes us feel closer and not just cancer sufferers

My opinion

I don’t mind a few...I like seeing pictures of the people I’ve been writing to, it makes it seem more friendly! I just don’t want to be overwhelmed with them and get away from the point of this forum.

I respectfully disagree with the thought of posting more photos as well. My interest in this site to begin with was to learn from other women’s experiences with different treatments etc and to share articles and information relevant to our disease. I enjoy the occasional picture but these things tend to have a life of their own and the site will be at risk to lose its objective and focus. I had a similar concern when there was a mention of exchanging recipes. I love the support we give to one another and would hate to compromise that focus. I have a suggestion that might be a good compromise. What if someone were to set up a private group Facebook site and people could sign up if interested? I saw this work well with another group I am part of. In this way photos, recipes, poems, etc could be easily shared. I know of this capability in Facebook but afraid I am not the right person to set it up. Not sure how to do it but would happily participate! 💜💜

I agree with Purple60. You will have people posting photos of grandkids, holidays, and such and the conversations will totally veer from the purpose of this board. A photo now and then is one thing but I think a separate private group as suggested above would be a better idea.

Honestly my two cents, were here for cancer health questions not social media. There are enough social media sites i prefer this not be one of them.

I don’t post often but I do read everyone’s entries. I agree with Barb, photographs bring a human element to the group. I think they de-medicalise it and soften the harsh reality of MBC.

Personally I find getting pricked, poked and prodded tiresome, so it’s nice to open this group and see some “normal” pictures of people getting out and about and living their lives. That’s just my opinion of course. To each their own 😀

I have to agree with Barb and moon and stars just makes the site more personable!! If someone doesn't want to see pics they don't have to click on that particular listing.

I enjoy seeing photos along with our health posts. It gives me a sense of normalcy as we still have lives outside of cancer.

Days when people post it brings a smile.

I think there's a happy medium to be had here. We all come here for the invaluable support and health advice, that is what makes this group what it is. But I don't think there's anything wrong with the odd photo or two. We are all people, not just cancer sufferers and I think it can reflect a lot of positivity to see people living their lives and doing "normal" things like holidays, weddings, birthdays; and the lovely flowers and beach photos we've seen to be honest give me pleasure to look at and somehow make me feel relaxed.
