I was wondering if anyone on efinitor and Aromasin ended up with high blood sugar. I’ve been on this treatment for 6 mos now and the Dr noticed my glucose rising, he said it couid be a side effect of the drugs I’m on. I have to be monitored by my GP. Very upsetting, never had this before and not in my family, then again neither was my cancer.

I took both and never had problems with high blood sugar.
I took Affinitor for about a month and my blood glucose went so high my Oncologist sent me to the emergency room where I was admitted to hospital for keto acidosis. A Dr there said that is a side effect of Affinitor and I was taken off of it permanently. It took a couple of months to then get blood sugar down to normal range.
I have type 2 diabetes from Piqray. Dr Foley from Sloan Kettering in NYC monitors my glucose from my Freestyle Libre2. I am 300 miles from Sloan. Taking Insulin would make my cancer increase.
Dr Foley helps patients with this side effect from cancer drugs. You can reach out to him from anywhere. It’s his specialty. He has me taking other medications to lower my glucose. Not a good side effect but Piqray has my cancer under control for now. Best to you. Reenie
