NO MORE IBRANCE

Have been on Ibrance since July lots of fatigue, loss of appetite, shortness of breath. Had CT of chest all stable, saw minor liver mets, asked for MRI for follow up. My dr does CA27-29 markers have risen from 289>2800 during this 3 months of Ibrance. We stopped Ibrance yesterday and started on IV fusion of Navilbine. Has anyone been on Navilbine?

I've not been on Navelbine myself but a good friend was on it and found it one of the easiest chemos she used. She was on it when I first met her and she had her hair and did not look sick at all. She had a her2neu positive mbc with lung mets and lived for 13 years after her mbc diagnosis but her death was preceeded (by about a year) by the sudden death of her 31 year old daughter, which devestated her. Her onc and family and friends all thought she'd have lived longer had her daughter not died. She just kinda faded after that, was no longer the happy chatty person she had been.

Look into getting some of your current biopsy sent to Foundation One in Boston. Consider only the financial aspect(check out options on their website, they sometimes help with the cost) but the rest is super easy as your doc would handle it.

You get back an amazing report of what are the appropriate meds for your specific mutations. Everyone should be using this!

Best of luck with the new medication.

I have never heard of that drug. Will you get infusion every month or just once? Will there be side effects?

in reply toJerseygirl45

I believe 2 weeks on 1 week off. Infusion from start to finish about hour 15 min. Had flu like symptoms on Sunday but not too bad today.

Sorry about your scan results. I, too. stopped Ibrance because of further mets to liver. I read about the drug you're inquiring about on just a brief look, it seems approved for lung cancer. Does that sound right? How were your side effects after first treatment?

I'm on gemzar and taxol now. She stopped my faslodex and ibrance.

Felt good Friday and Saturday, Sunday flu like symptoms so just slept.
