Good morning all. Can any of you verzenio gals tell me what to expect before starting this new drug? I am currently on Ibrance/Letrazole and now have an increase in size of two liver lesions found on CT. Pleural effusion now small compared to large and no lymph node involvement seen. I had a steady decrease in tumor markers since last Octorber (188-28) but had a 20 point bump last week. I plan to start both drugs next week. Thanks for you help ladies!
Thanks Shelly

Hi yeh been on it two months now all good , no side effects I can think off bit tired sometimes but working and doing everything as normal still early days tho xxxxx hope this helps a bit
A fellow Verzenio. Ibrance only worked for three cycles, not because of progress but because how sick I got on it and how low my white blood cell count was. So I am now on Verzenio. Its' two pills per day with no weeks off. My onco started me with 150 mg. doses twice a day. I could not deal with it after two weeks and I just stopped taking it. I was told to expect severe bouts of diarrhea but for the first week, I had severe constipation. I had some stomach issues and headaches. She lowered my dosage to 100 mgs. I felt no different. I did get the diarrhea after a month and was finding it hard to manage. If I took Imodium after an occurrence of diarrhea, I would then be severely constipated. I found that hard to manage. I stopped that after three weeks. This time I am on the lowest dosage which is 50 mgs. and am finding it so much better. I see what my triggers are (dairy). I still get the diarrhea but it is not as bad and I can kind of control it better. Sometimes I get stomach pain (a side effect) but not every day. The lower dosage of .50 mg. was the trick for me. Do expect diarrhea. It is the main side effect. Buy some depends, some baby cream rash. I did have a day when I walked to the store (I dont drive) and unfortunately I sneezed and went on myself but I had a pair of depends that day (I can kind of determine days when its going to happen bc of my stomach) and that was depressing. But for me the .50 mg. Everybody is so different on meds that one's experience may not be the same as yours. People are on Ibrance for so long....I hated it because my week off I felt so sick and would have to lay in bed the whole week. It was scary so only lasted three cycles on that. Buy some Imodium, drink alot of water. Other than that, I do not feel at all the same fatigue I felt on Ibrance. I very much prefer the Verzenio.
I found the stomach pain on 150 mgs and 100 mgs. to be hard to deal with. But not having them with the 50 mgs. Funny, how just a few days ago I was saying the fatigue was not that bad, it was more less energy than fatigue. Then two days ago, I slept for 10 hours, woke up, took a shower, ate and still felt tired. Went back to bed and slept for two full hours, then was up for another three hours and then felt really tired again and went back to bed at 5 pm and woke up at 7:30 pm. This is the first time I really felt fatigued. I was surprised how much I slept that day. But I listen to my body.
Wow! Thank you for responding. Ok. that is something to keep in mind. I am a GI nurse and work in and out of the procedure room all day. I also kickbox 3 days a week. Hmm, this looks like it could be a problem.
My onco told me to take Imodium right after having a bout of diarrhea, but I found when I do that, then I am constipated. I had severe constipation for the first 10 days, then boom it turned to "d". I find it easier to manage on only the 50 mgs. of Verzenio.
