Loss of appetite

Hi all, I have stomach mets and over the last few weeks I have completely lost my appetite. My oncologist said just graze food instead of trying to eat a meal, but I find that quite hard as I don't fancy anything. I have lost a lot of weight and I have been given Fusiben to drink. My stomach mets are stable, not shrinking but not growing. As soon as I even eat a biscuit I get terrible wind. Tried all the peppermint ideas and hot water, but it is embarrassing if you want to go out. Any suggestions would be most helpful. Best wishes to all you ladies.

Oh Jenny am so sorry to hear about your loss of appetite. Maybe you can ask your oncologist about PROSURE? It’s made especially to counter cancer caused weight loss. I don’t know if you can tolerate it but maybe worth a try.

Did you ever look into medical marijuana? I was having horrific pains in my stomach and diarrhea after eating and no desire for food still can’t think of anything that sounds good to eat I lost 25 pounds. Started taking cbd oil with thca oil which does not get you high helps tremendously with the stomach pain Dr said if I wanted to increase my appetite I should use cbd with regular thc. I don’t like the feeling with regular thc but most people feel relaxed with it. Just a thought for you.

I will look into that, I can get CBD oil here, not sure what thca oil is. I live in the UK, where do you get yours from, and is there a particular strength. Appreciate the tip.

Do you have Mets in the stomach as well. I find I am ok when I first get up. Can eat some breakfast. It's later in the day I start to get chronic pains in my stomach and back, by the evening it has moved down to my bowels. I suspect it is a build up of wind. I have been on Ibrance and letrasol for more than a year and this has only started over the last few weeks. Scans show no change, it seems odd.

As far as last scan I don’t have Mets to my stomach it’s the side effects from Verzinio but I seem to be ok with breakfast also it’s later in day and not every day but the cbd oil helps with the pain and Imodium for if it turns out to also be diarrhea.

Ginger can be quite good. A candy that has real ginger or a few sips of a ginger herbal tea. It is quite spicy so some people don’t like it.

I have tried ginger in all the forms as my oncologist suggested, but unfortunately it did nothing for me. But thanks.

I wonder if it would help to meet with a nutritionist or dietician for suggestions about what to eat and amounts to eat. It's too bad that those of us who lose weight and those of us who gain weight can't somehow "share" our bulk! I'd sure be willing to give you 25 pounds if I could!
