Has anyone had liver metastases that resulted in ascites? If so did it resolve on its own or did they treat with diuretics or paracentesis?

I have liver mets but have not experienced that. Not even really sure what it is exactly. I hope it gets better for you.

I too have liver mets. I had not had that trouble in relation to the liver mets. I have began to have a lot of swelling in my legs and arms due to the chemotherapy. I am on Taxotere and Cytoxan. I know other women that had the swelling from chemo in their abdomen without liver mets and taking Taxotere, Cytoxan and Adriamycin. My swelling resolved in between chemo. Before prescribing diuretics my doc wanted to be sure what was causing the swelling. He had me wait a few days to see if it started to or completely resolved. He believed if it did resolve it was due to it being a side effect. Instead of treating the symptom with a diuretic he increased my steroid dose to stop the symptom from happening. The steroid increase helped.

Remember fluid intake is very important during treatment do not cut back unless your doctor indicates to do so.

My best of wishes that you will get through your treatments with no further issue.

Thank you for your reply. I am having an ultrasound of my abdomen next week to see where the fluid is.

Have you had your ultrasound or gotten results?

Yes. They took off 4.5 liters of fluid from my abdominal cavity and 1 liter from my chest. Feel so much better. Praying fluid doesn’t come back. So far so good. Still have lots of swelling in legs and feet. He hasn’t given me any steroid with my treatment. I read so many are on the chemo Taxol and don’t have many side effects. Thank you so much for your help.
