Blood test

I have been on ibrance for almost 2 years with no problems with my blood. This month my blood test indicated 4.8 monos which is .4 lower than it should be. Has anyone experienced this and why?

I’ve been on Ibrance for almost 4 years. Although my wbcs run low, they never hit 1 before last month. And last month I wasn’t as exhausted as I was the cycle before, so who knows how low I went. After a discussion with my onc, I’m skipping a cycle. After a week I am feeling a lot better. I’ll still go for the faslodex shot. Who knows why. I’m thinking it’s probably good to take a holiday from drugs that suppress blood counts.

Hi there,

Hope you are well.

I’ve just started ibrance(3months) do you mind me asking if you feel ok 4 years down the road?

Best wishes,

Paulinax

I am mostly ok. I sometimes get very tired and I nap a lot. I work full time and can do my job as a school nurse same as always. In the beginning I had a dry sore mouth. That went away. And dry skin. Maybe that was the letrozole. It has probably helped me live with decent quality of life these past few years. I travel. I don’t look sick. So far it’s not a question of giving it up because of side effects.

Wow! That’s great you are working. I’m a stay at home mum. Wish I was still working, less time to think. I started letrozole/ibrance and have no side effects at all. It’s weird, I’m waiting for them to kick in. I’m sure they will!!

Thanks for getting back to me!x

Harder to be a Mom than work! Find something you enjoy and make time for it. A hobby, reading, a book club, something to get you out of the house. Something that’s just for you. Treat yourself, according to your means, manicures, facials, massages. Eat your greens and read uplifting books. Remember that you are not cancer.

Thank you so much. So nice to hear. Financially I am very lucky. I travel a lot and meet up with friends a lot for lunch, shopping and manicures.

I’m finding reading uplifting books very helpful.

I live in central London, but escape to nature as much as I possibly can.

Still getting my head around MBC.

Such godsend to connect to women like you.

Thank you.x
