Hi maryanne88,

They say that Ibrance lowers your white blood count. Check your bloodwork papers and it’ll show you what the normal range is. But all these oral chemo pills lower your red, white, hemoglobin, platelets, etc,

You’re on the highest dosage of Ibrance so it’s expected that your bloodwork will be down. Your doctor will be monitoring your blood counts monthly I imagine. Mine does, As long as it doesn’t get abnormally low, then it should be okay. If it dips too much your doctor will lower the dosage.

Good luck with everything, Sending prayers your way. Kats2

My wbc usually runs about 2.5, so it sounds like you’re doing good

For me, the oncologist only checked my blood at the 2 week mark for the first few cycles. Now, it gets checked only just before it's time to start a new cycle. For me, if neutrophils are below 1.2, they delay the start of the new cycle and recheck blood in a week. In Canada, the normal range is between 2 and 4. Everyone is different and their bodies tolerate different Ibrance doses. If you end up having to get your dose adjusted down at some point, it doesn't mean that Ibrance won't be as effective. I'm down to 75 mg now and doing well. I found that my body adjusted over time and I have less fatigue then I used to. By the last few days of the Ibrance, I'm definitely more tired than at the start. I know it's scary, but hang in there. You're stronger than you know. I try to practise an attitude of gratitude for all the good things and try not to focus on the disease. I don't always suceed, but I try. After all, I plan to live many more years and am working on figuring out my new norm. I pray for peace for you.

Hi, ibrance does this. Not to worry-I started at 125mg and white count plummeted to .72. Doc reduced my dose age to 100mg daily and my white count now holds at 1.70. My new normal I call it. I am just the germaphobe in every crowd. Love my handy wipes and hand sanitizers. You will just need to avoid the potential for getting sick with flu, colds, etc
