I am 77 y/o female 31/2 years post diagnosis of stage 2 invasive breast cancer. Just recently I was found to have metastasis to T11 vertebra (asymptomatic). The arimidex is no longer working. I will be starting on Fulvestrant and Ibrance in 4 days and am overwhelmed with the cost. I would like information how other women pay for this therapy and what side effects.that have been noted. Medication costs and side effects
My husband has good insurance. You can contact Pfizer for assistance for Ibrance at no charge if you qualify. My side effects are minimal. Fatigue and some neutropenia. I have been on Ibrance and letrozole for 4 years come July. I have scans Monday. Praying all is stable!
Besides contacting Pfizer, contact Patient Advocate Foundation for co-pay relief at 1-866-512-3861. You can go to the foundation’s website on line and see if you qualify. Good luck, Cheflala!
I am on Medicare with supplemental insurance. My prescription drug plan is through Humana. As soon as I was diagnosed, my oncologist had a specialty pharmacy, Briova, contact me. They found me an $8000 grant that covered my copays for almost a year. It ran out and they contacted me again and found a $5000 grant. That is where I am at now. So far I have not had to pay anything. If no grants are found, they will contact Phiszer for help. I was shocked and scared when I first heard the cost too. Relax...there is help to be found.
The specialty pharmacy at my hospital was able to get me no co pay check with the social worker to see what they can do for you
