Just read this article referring to cancer patients using alternative therapies
Nothing startlingly new but the last sentence summed it up...don’t stop conventional treatment or you will die sooner if using only alternative stuff...harsh but true
Edzard Ernst is the emeritus professor of complementary medicine at Exeter university quotes “our understanding of the interactions between cancer treatments and dietary supplements is woefully inadequate “
His advice is to discontinue supplements whilst being treated for cancer
Any thoughts ladies?

I drank green juice through my chemo and I swear it helped me get thru 12 rounds when I was told most people can get thru 7 or 8 because of neuropathy. I am not a scientist I do believe in the benefit of diet, yoga, meditation, etc. but I have done every conventional treatment offered: chemo, radiation, surgery, Ibrance and faslodex. I don’t think any supplement or special diet would have kept me alive 5 years. I agree with Dr Enzst that our knowledge of how supplements and diets work against cancer is very inconclusive and inadequate There needs to be more funding to support research here, but drug companies have no stake in that. Same problem with orphan drugs and old drugs that are effective but cheap like Cromylyn for asthma. Not much profit there. Sad that effective treatments are tied to profit.
I’m like you..I juice and take some supplements approved by my oncologist..they maybe make no difference but I guess they do no harm either..apart from to my pocket!!
all this time, all this research, so little known! it is sickening to me! I just posted about xenoestrogens; I had no idea it was in our tap water too! anyway, forgive me in advance I am in a sour mood after reading all of this; I almost deleted it but knowledge is power and any way we can combat this beast, we need to know about it! hubby drinks distilled water but it comes in a plastic jug, just one example of my frustration. I do add 1/4 tsp. to a gallon so the ph level is 8.4. Shalom!
Same...I’m not reading any more of those...some contradict one another and you never ever hear of patients on whom the treatment doesn’t work
Out of the lot I’ve read I think radical remission probably the best but that has a religious chapter which I ignored...they’re only someone’s opinion after all
I’d tend to agree with him! But I’m a skeptic when it comes to those things. I want good scientific studies on people, not mice or cells in a Petri dish! Elaine
I use miriam kalamian's protocol for supplements & way of eating along with the usual meds for MBC. Look her up, there's a lot of momentum in her plan & the keto community towards preventing cancer & managing once you have it. Dr Dom D'Agostino is also having great success with a plan very similar to her's.
