Going for my hysterectomy today. Ugh! Nerves are just about to start creeping in. I knew eventually I would have to remove my ovaries and tubes because of my crappy brca2 mutation and finding out about the cervix mets was an unexpected bonus so I figured just do it all! 😳 However, knowing and doing are always two incredibly different feelings. Any words of advice I can read while recovering? I feel like running and hiding. Best to you all! xoxo.

Now you have reached the day of surgery just get it done and out the way..tomorrow will be the start of the new you
I wish you a speedy recovery
My auntie had a hysterectomy a while ago and the nurse said...’they’re taking away the nursery not the playpen ‘...hope that wasn’t inappropriate..just trying to make you smile
Oh I’ve perked up today..had new extensions put in hair so feel posh...stopping the citalopram as felt overmedicated..hardly slept the last two nights though but that’s probably because I don’t need the sleep!!
Hi Leeann, wishing you a speedy recovery. I had a hysterectomy, it will be okay. Just don't overdo it and let your body heal. I had a huge fibroid, I didn't want surgery but boy am I glad I did.
Leeann I hope you are recovering well! It was a relief to me to have my ovaries and Fallopian tubes out, recovery was pretty easy. I did really relax for a couple of weeks. Although I was back on my treadmill within a week, I can’t handle life without working out 😃😃
I think the waiting is the worst. It will be done and behind you before you know it. Just rest and take care of yourself while recuperating. Prayers for a quick recovery.
On the positive side where I reside... it's Spring!
Perhaps this is your body getting a little "spring cleaning".
Clearing out the darkness to create space for healing light.
Be sure to nurture yourself with lots of love, positive thoughts and wonderful healthy fresh food!
Enjoy your rest, journal if you like, don't be afraid to ask for what you want and need.
It will be a new you, so treat yourself to a make over, new hair, new cream, new perfume and a new outfit with new colors and comfortable shoes for the walks you will soon be enjoying.
Maybe it's time for a little picnic by the ocean.
Blessings arrive in unusual ways when they are most needed.
Thank you to all the lovely ladies for all the well wishes. I am finally home! They were not able to remove uterus and cervix but the ovaries and tubes are out!! No more lupron! :-). My abdomen is actually doing pretty well. The most pain is actually from an unending headache. I believe it is due to the anesthesia which knocked me for a loop until about 9pm. My surgery was at 7:30 am! All in all, happy to be home. Happy to have those estrogen producing organs out! Best wishes to all!! Thank you again. XOXO
Anaesthetics do make you feel poorly for a while...I find i can’t concentrate..a friend of mine is a surgeon and he tells his patients not to make any major decisions for 6 weeks after a general anaesthetic
Hi I had a full laparoscopic in October. I was driving within 10 days and on very low meds. You will need time to rest for the first week. I know I had to wait at least 2 months before we could have intercourse and it did bleed off and on for a while. Make sure you have a liner handy. No lifting over 5 lbs for a few weeks.
