Good afternoon

I was diagnosed with stage 4 MBC gone to my bones in June of 2018 six months after losing my husband to Stage 4 Lung Cancer. I am taking Ibrance and Femara and had no issues until Nov when I started having numbness and nerve damage in my right foot which also resulted in foot drop. I got a leg brace for my right foot and had surgery on my spine (lamienetomy) which was suppose to fix the numbness and nerve damage. Since the surgery my left foot has developed the same symptoms. Today I am feeling really down because I have lost my independence, really haven’t had time to grieve my husband. To make a long story short has anyone else experience any of the above issues while on Ibrance or femara. Just trying to rule out medications

Hello. I am so sorry for the loss of your husband, and for your diagnosis. I was on Ibrance and Femara for four months and did not experience what you are. I have neuropathy now in my feet due to Taxol, but I was warned of this side effect. When on Ibrance and Femara, I was only warned of mouth sores, which I did experience. Maybe this foot issue is related to something else entirely - not your cancer. I too had a bout with a tendon problem in August and had to where a cast on my leg for 2 months - this had nothing to do with my cancer and I still don't know what caused it! I hope that you find some time to grieve properly and find some peace in your days.

Lillian, you have been through so much. My heart breaks for you. I am on Ibrance/Letrozol but have not had nerve damage. My feet are numb from diabetes. Lots of hugs to you. Blessings, Hannah

Good morning Mary

They did the lamienectomy because the MRI showed that I had a tethered spinal cord dhich they believed was the issue causing the numbness, weakness and drop foot not cancer related at all. But since the surgery nothing has changed with my right foot and now my left foot is affected as well. Just looking for other causes. I am having another MRI on Saturday with a followup with the neurologist.

I am so sorry for your loss. Grief upon grief!

Was your laminectomy done because of cancer affecting the spine or something else?

I have some neuropathy and pain legs and feet but not as bad as yours. Not from meds but from arthritis and tumor on spine. Also right arm shoulder hand symptoms from cancer.

I hope you get some relief from your symptoms.

So sorry for the loss of your husband. I hope you are able to grieve and gain your strength back in mind and body.

I also lost my husband. It is so difficult to deal with. I hope you have friends and family for support. Reach out to them. Hold them close.

Love,

Marianne

So very sorry for your loss and suffering. I was on Femera nine years ago and suffered so much bone pain I couldn’t walk. Changed to amatrozole (?). Much better, no side effects. It could be the Femera. Good luck and prayers.
