The last few days I e been abnormally tired..yesterday had to lie down and slept for 2 hours..today I forced myself to ride my horse..just a steady plod but when I got off I was weak and dizzy..my friend had to untack him and sort him out..thought I was going to faint and my legs were weak
My haemaglobin Was very low at last blood tests so I’m assuming it’s that..having an iron infusion tomorrow..I’ve never fainted in my life so hope this will help..it was a horrible feeling
Have any of you had an iron infusion?.. do they work quickly?

never had one, hope and pray it works quick to give your strength back. it almost sounds like your blood sugar bottomed out, speaking as a diabetic, not saying you are. feel better soon! <3 xo
I’m not diabetic as far as I’m aware...my vision went blurry almost like the effects when I have a migraine..I had eaten breakfast etc...horrible feeling though
Maybe I’ll be bouncing off the walls next week after my iron boost!!!
My husband does most of the cooking and he’s a vegetarian but eats fish..I don’t like fish so I think I’ll have to incorporate some meat into my diet..I know vegetables and pulsed etc have iron but it’s not so easily absorbed
I love the Glory brand of collard greens they sell at walmart, already seasoned too! lots of iron in collard greens and spinach. For protein, I'm eating baked chicken breasts and I found that cottage cheese has quite a bit also, as well as calcium. I make a sauce for the chicken with butter and parmesan cheese sprinkled lightly on it, and salt of course, yummy!
I’m in uk do don’t have that brand of greens..they sound lovely..and the chicken..yummy!
Interesting about cottage cheese with iron..the problem with that is the calcium will inhibit the absorption of the iron which is a shame,,I’ve been reading up on iron..things that hinder absorption are calcium..tea coffee anything dairy..but orange juice or any vitamin c increases uptake..I guess some meat with a glass of orange juice is the best combo
I'm sorry, it's not iron in cottage cheese, it's protein ... 12 grams per 1/2 cup! I'm trying to play catch-up on all my minerals because I have not been eating right for a very long time. I was told at 40 that I had the bones of a 25 year old, so being big and very dense boned, I assumed I was good for life DUH! never worried about getting my calcium or protein. now taking "move easy" for the boron content as again, I read that boron is required as well to build bone. Been on letrozole 2 mos. and when I went to ortho, quite a bit of new bone had been built around the break, so that was really good to hear. okay, enough rabbiting, I can hear my hubby now! <3 God bless you and heal us all, amen!
I have not had infusions, but boy was I exhausted last weekend and Monday. I could barely stay awake. Slept a lot. The kind of fatigue where it itakes too much energy to breathe. Thank God it passed and tho I am not doing cartwheels, I feel enough energy to get thru the day. Hope this passes soon! ❤️
I’ve never felt like this ever and it was quite frightening..I’m so glad you’re feeling much better.. I’m assuming it’s the low haemaglobin...does your red cell count drop sometimes?
I will ask about going on 75 mg..it works just the same from what I’ve read on here..why suffer from these awful side effects
Good luck

Hi Barb,
I have never had an iron infusion before, so can't comment on that. But I have fainted before. It was normally because I became anaemic during my periods, as I used to lose so much blood. I would mention what happened to the doctors tomorrow. It sounds like it could be your low haemoglobin, as you say it was low last time you had it checked, but it is best to be checked over in case there may be another underlying cause such as diabetes.
I’ll try that supplement..it says it’s easy on the stomach...I usually have a cast iron stomach but those bog standard tablets were vile ..they were binned immediately!
Definitely the low hemoglobin causing those symptoms. The iron transfusions will help a lot. Ibrance’s side effects are known to affect all blood counts. I hope you feel better really soon/-try to eat red meats also and just rest until you go for transfusions. Hugs 💕🙏🏻Frances
Barb sorry to hear that you feel very tired, weak. I tired easily, once in a while I'll get super tired, have to just rest. I've not had a iron infusion. Take care
I am sorry you didn't feel well. I have not had an iron infusion before. If you eat non heme veggies you have to eat citrus along with them for absorbtion. Last week I had the shakes, light headed and a we bit nauseous, not sure why, so I ate some protein and felt better. I too, eat mainly vegetarian but will eat meat occasionally.
Best to you and hope your feeling better so you can ride.
Omg must bot have been a good day for needles. I got stabbed 5 times myself! Smdh!! Had zometa today. Have got to drink more water!! Hope you are feeling better! Xoxo
I have never had that infusion but I hope it works for you. Any blood issues will definitely make you tired and weak for sure. Feel better!
Love,
Marianne
I have had numerous blood transfusions. My rbc count always seems low. At one point the suggestion was only one bag. However the last couple times I was given 2 bags. The process is long (2 hours for a bag). No pain though and you will definitely get some energy back.
I see how wonderful you all are and I am happy I stumbled upon this group! Look forward to communicating with you more as well. Xoxo
I have been having dizzy spells since I started Ibrance and they are getting progressively worse. My knees go weak, everything spins and goes black. My BP drops about 10 points when I stand up but nobody seems to know if that is the cause. I can’t do much as it hits without warning.
That happened to me on Sunday..I think as you do that it’s a drop in blood pressure..it’s scary
I was going to go for a walk yesterday but it’s put me off as I’m worried about passing out..daren’t ride my horse at the moment..in too much pain anyway..fed up
I thought with spring I would feel better but I’m like you. Fed up with feeling bad and being tired. Has your doctor not prescribed anything for your pain? You shouldn’t be suffering.
Sorry about your experience. I've had low red blood cell and anemia. I've also had iron infusion. I also get Aranesp, a red blood cell booster (it's a shot), when my RBC falls below 10. I didn't feel a big difference last year with the iron, but I do get good results with the Aranesp. I also eat a lot of kale, spinach and occasionally take iron supplements, the Solgar brand doesn't constipate. Hope that helps.
PS -- I also get a little light-headed after workouts and was told with my chemotherapy regimen to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate -- although I drink 1/2 my weight in water ozs. daily.
a bit off the subject, but have you heard anything about molecular hydrogen water H2, supposedly being good for EVERY condition known to woman? They speak of it as though the fountain of youth has finally been discovered! You can make it yourself, so no money to be made from the youtube DIY video I watched. Let me know what you think, I am always falling for this stuff! grrrrrrrrrrrr Here's the video if interested. youtube.com/watch?v=mJ1DeiD...
