Gastrointestinal issues on ibrance

I am wondering if anyone else on here has stomach issues? I have mets to the spine and pelvis area. I had radiotherapy a year ago when first diagnosed. Since then I have had recurring stomach problems that don't seem to follow any set pattern. My GI specialist suspects adhesions from the radiotherapy which at times cause a partial blockage. He has suggested a colonoscopy and I have to say I feel a little nervous. Not necessarily about the procedure but as to what they might find. Pet scans have all come back clear and as far as the Mets go they are NED. I think the best time to have it done would be the week off ibrance. Love reading this forum and thank you all for your positivity and inspiration.

Yes. I have stomach and gastrointestinal issues. I had my stomach resectioned as my pyloris was closed by my Cancer. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks in August. My oncologist said it was super major surgery.

I have issues with my bowels. I take senna and Colace in the morning and night. I also take Miralax to keep me going. The days I am on Ibrance I tend to be very constipated and my week off the opposite. I need to watch what I eat always.

A heating pad helps and I am on one now.

My gastroenterologist gave me pills to stop the cramping.

This is a wicked disease.

Be well my sister.

Thanks for the reply.....that sounds awful you poor thing. I have times when everything is normal and this can go on for weeks or months but then I have times when the problems are quite debilitating.

I have gastric issues to from Ibrance. I take Miralax and lactaid chewables as Ibrance has lactose. Seems to help a bit.

Have had colonoscopies which found growths which they removed. The prep is bad but procedure isn't bad at all. Good idea to get it done! Good luck!

Colonoscopy is no big deal. But, personally, I would be off Ibrance until my counts are in a more normal range.

I was on ibrance for 2 1/2 years and letrosole and things were going well

Than this fall I began having severe abdominal issues and found that my small intestine was being blocked by cancer so had surgery in December

Miserable for a couple months before things got resolved

Now switched to kisqali and faslodex for treatment

Last month or so have had some abdominal issues again so wondering if it is meds or cancer back-seems too soon for that

Have a cat scan scheduled for tomorrow we really have to cherish the days things go fairly normal don’t we?

Enjoy everyone’s support on this site
