Pain after vertebraplasty

Hi ladies

I had a vertebraplasty 10 days ago..still have stitches in place

I’m a bit disappointed that I still have pain but in my shoulder blade area

I’m hoping this is just from the procedure and will heal otherwise I’m still going to have to rely on painkillers

Fed up..anyone else had this procedure and had same symptoms?

Hi Barb,

I haven't had a vertebraplasty, so don't know if the pain you are experiencing is a normal part of the healing process. But I just wanted you to know I hope you feel better soon. I would contact your doctor or surgeon if you are concerned that the pain is something else that needs to be looked into. Were you given a leaflet when you left the hospital outlining what to expect in the coming days and weeks? I can understand that you do not want to have to keep relying on painkillers, so hopefully this is just temporary. I would definitely find out for sure though just to ease your mind.

Thanks for your good wishes..I wasn’t given any instructions after surgery but I’m having my stitches out in a few days so will ask if pain is normal..maybe my expectations were too high..disappointing though if so

I have that surgery bc I have a fracture in my spine. I was still on pain for more than a month, but I can tell you that I am doing better now

Mine still hurts a lot....having some steroid injected into epidural space soon

It will get better! Dont lost your hope. I was feeling like that but then I start feeling better and the pain is not like before.
