Bruising with ibrance

Hi ladies

I’ve restarted Ibrance at 100mg as couldn’t take high dose due to low white and red blood cells

I’ve developed some sort of bruising on my arms..looks red rather than black and doesn’t feel tender..not seeing oncologist for a few weeks..just wondered if any of you girls have had this and is it of concern..apart from that I feel reasonably ok

I’ve been on 125mg Ibrance and letrozole for 2 1/2 yrs, about 6 months ago I started getting what looked like bruises on my legs , they don’t hurt but still haven’t gone away. In June my onc thought it would be good to biopsy one of them, it came back no malignancy. Don’t have any explanation.

Hiya

Thanks for that..I’ve been worried I might not be able to take Ibrance and I want to keep on it as it appears to be the best treatment for er positive mets

I’ve been taking ibuprofen for pain which thins the blood so I’ll change to co-codamol and see if that helps..maybe I’ll be put on 75 mg Ibrance which apparently works also

I never used to be such a hypochondriac but this hideous disease has me worried all the time

Best wishes

I have been on Ibrance 100 mg for over 2 years now. (Onc lowered it after one month on 125 due to very low WBC counts) I do experience a good amount of bruising on Ibrance though. . I understand that it is due to my low Platelet count and low ANC. This could be your issue as well. Those numbers have stayed low for me but my onc says I'm still good to go on the 100 mg. It seems to be working so I'll continue !! :)

Hi, Barb!

I've had a bit of bruising on occasion. In fact I have some small ones on my right arm now, but mine look more like a typical darkish bruise. I have my monthly labs, consult, and Xgeva injection today and will ask about it. I'll let you know what onc says. Linda

Hi Linda

Another lady suggested it was low platelets which makes sense as it those that help in the clotting process

I’ll try not to be too concerned

I bruise something fierce at the end of the 3 week cycle and during my week off. Then it all settles down again for a few weeks into the next cycle. I figure it’s a small price to pay for the benefit!

Hi Barb, I just wrote a similar post about Ibrance and bruising. I get lots of bruises on hands and arms at the end of my week off of Ibrance. Keep us posted with what you find out.

I am on my week off and just noticed two light bruises. Sounds like it is not unusual.
