Mediastinum and hilar lymph nodes

I went online to read about hilar lymph nodes after seeing my oncologist today. He mentioned the possibility of lung cancer or lymphoma. I brought up the possibility that the newly enlarged hilar lymph nodes and increase is lung nodes could be because a different hormone status from my breast cancer, he didn't say much. I have to wait about 3 weeks for a different type of lung biopsy from my first to check hormone status and to see if it's definitely breast cancer. My first lung biopsy they felt that it was lung cancer but could not be 100% sure. I was just wondering if there was anyone else who's had breast cancer metastasize to the hilar lymph nodes?

My breast cancer metastasized to my mediastinum. It was lymph node involvement

Hi Alicia i was also diagnosed with the same as you and on Letrozole at the moment

have you had any symptoms, my lymph nodes seem to be going down

I am on Ibrance and Letrozole on my 11th round. Last scan reflected reduction of hilar lymph node and resolution of some lung spots breast tumor reduced and lymph node under arm reduced. Praying for meds to keep working. Wishing the same for you.

Original left breast tumor spread to left axillary lymph nodes then to hilar lymph node. They performed biopsies of the axillary and hilar nodes but couldn’t biopsy the lung because if it’s location on the mediastinal plate between the two lobes. The results were breast cancer Er+ Pr+ they also performed molecular diagnostics.

Map, I have stage IV breast ca diagnosed 7/2017 by biopsy of supraclavicular tumor. Pet scan showed lung nodules and other metastIc areas, ibrance and letrizole treatment. Repeat scan last week shows stable hilar lymph nodes we assume these are cancer but happy they are stable the other lung nodules are not showing up now. Goid luck and prayers for you, Mary.

NPmary, Tam56, Alicia63, thank you for your replies. For me I guess I just have to wait and see what the biopsy shows. The ibrance and letrozole seem to be working on on my breast and underarm lymph nodes but doing nothing for my lungs. I was worried that maybe breast cancer did not metastasize to the hilar lymph nodes and that I was looking at a different cancer. So maybe I'm looking at a different hormone receptor in the cancer in the lungs.
