I've had bone mets since December 2015. Had scans, last month, and everything is stable. I couldn't sleep last night, due to stabbing pains in my spine and right leg.
I've never experienced pain like this. Has anyone had radiation to help with the pain?
What has been your experience. Thank you and God bless us all!!

When I was first diagnosed I could not lift my right arm do to the cancer. Could hardly walk with pain in back an hip pelvis. I had 5 radiation treatment to arm hips pelvis. They said could not do back. I could literally not get on table first day. By the fifth treatment
I could and most of pain was gone. They said as the medication shrunk the leasions I would feel better. I do, except for my back. Try not to take aleve unless I have to. If I sit for half hour in my recliner I feel better. Ask your doctor if it would help you.
I have several bone mets and rods in both of my femurs. I’ve tried radiation but find using fentanyl patches helps the pain the most. I also stretch daily and do acupuncture and get massages.
Surprisingly enough, I took an oxycodone last night and now the pain is gone. Just taking it easy today. Thanks for your reply. We just gotta do what works.
Hello, Suze! I was diagnosed in November 2017, with mets to spine and one hip. I had 10 radiation treatments to my spine and will have my second pet scan at end of this month. Since diagnosis, I have been treated with Ibrance, letrozole, and a monthly shot of Xgeva. I still have occasional back and joint pain but have found great relief from extra strength tylenol and a heat pad on my back occasionally. Of note: I have found that I am more achy during the week following my Xgeva shot. God bless you, too, Suze! Linda
I had palliative radiation which helped decrease bone pain tremendously, it also stopped progression of neuropathy (caused from tumors pressing on nerves). Hope you get help for your pain.
