Thinking about asking dr to lower my ibrance from 125 to 100. Anyone have any hard facts on this or benefits. Thanks.

Hi Marianna,

I did not ask to lower ibrance since I just started but I did ask to lower my amounts for Afinitor, twice. The first month I got just about every side affect possible so he lowered it from 10mg to 7.5mg. I did well on that for about a year and then started getting side effects again and they were bad enough that I wanted to try another drug. But then the makers of Afinitor came up with a mouth rinse that seemed to help keep the mouth sores away. I was getting them in wierd places where they would be settling on a nerve in my mouth. That hurt! So I stayed on the 7.5mg regime for about 9 more months. Then I was having some more issues so he alternated my dosage to 7.5 on one day and 5mg the next day. That worked fine for almost another year until recently when I had to start the Ibrance and Letrozole this week. So far, no issues except for some fatigue. The main thing is if you can't handle the side effects I am sure your doctor may be agreeable to it or perhaps alternate the dosage. I don't know how long you have been on it but it may have a cumulative effect. Check with your doctor. Let me know what he says. Since I am knew to this drug I am trying to learn as much as possible.

Best wishes,

Mary

I would be a good idea to discuss any side effects with your doctor and let he or she decide if it should be lowered.

Yeah, talking with your doc about your side effects is a good idea. I just started on Ibrance.

The disease will most likely be determined by your shite blood cell count. If it goes too low, the disease most likely will be reduced. Good luck to u.

I'm going to ask my Oncologist tomorrow to lower mine. I think I told you I'm in my third cycle and got very sick. I know he probably feels I need the higher dose but quality of life is important. Would you like me to tell you what he says tomorrow?

My doc lowered mine due to my crashing counts. I bet yours will too. I was worried that the lower dose wouldn’t work as hard as a lower dose but he assured me that it not the case and the lower dose will work just the same 😊. Everyone I’ve talked to has gotten there dose lowered. Some can’t handle it at all even at the 75mg

This will be long. I am recovering from a hip replacement. They wanted to do 5 radiation treatments to help with pain as ball was put on hip with cancer. The night after first treatment was when I got so sick. Oncologist said he thinks radiation may have hit my bowel and caused this. Anyway he actually then said since I have stomach problems he wanted to lower my Ibrance to 100 mg. I didn't have to ask. Got my Faslodex and Xgeva shots today.

I started ibrance 125 with letrozole in may 2017 . I developed a severe rash on stomach hands arms, and nauseous. Steroid creams didn't work, but Allegra did, and nauseous medicine. I gave up the nauseous medicine, by sitting calmly after taking, ,for about an hour till it passes. I just gave up the Allegra(24 hr kind) and so far so good. Alegra was very drying to my whole system, and I hate taking more drugs then I need to. Other than real tired in afternoon, neorapthy now also in my leg, hair thinning I'm doing good. I've had one xgeva shot 6 weeks ago and still have bruise and lump at sight. I see my oncologist every 2 months and it's scary not going every month. I feel like I'm free floating, not having confirmation from blood tests. Good health to everyone, and so great full for drs and medications.

I take Ibrance 125mg. and Letrozole 2.5mg. nausea is terrible with Ibrance but if I take

Zofra 8mg. 40 minutes before I take the Ibrance it helps and must take on a full stomach.

I had to stop Ibrance because my ANC was 0.3. Waiting a week and see if it comes up. Started on antibiotic and in 1 week more blood work and then maybe will start me back on lower dose of Ibrance.

Hi

As far as the info I have read on this it makes no difference other than reducing side effects

It doesn't seem to matter what dose you are on as long as it works.

Cheers, June S.
