I too have type 2 diabetes and am a breast cancer survivor. I am not on insulin. When I had my second mastectomy the doctors told me not to take my meds the day of surgery, but the day after when I was able to eat I resumed taking my \mediation and had no problems. I hope this helps yiou

Hi, i am 46 and have had type 1 diabetes for 35 years with excellent control and a 6.5 A1c. I have not started chemo yet but have been warned the steroids are going to cause probs with my blood sugar. I don't know your situation but my doctor put me on a CGM continuous glucose monitor so i can try to maintain control throughout all of this. My Dr can also view my readings at anytime through all this latest technology and help me stay regulated as close to normal as possible. I wish you the best and i will help with any questions you may have. Having breast cancer on top of an already 24/7 job of taking care of diabetes is certainly no picnic but we are warriors and will come out victoriously! For me the battle has already been won because of my faith in Jesus Christ. He has never let me down and i know He is going to carry me through this as well.
