My doc has prescribed this drug for benign prostatic hyperplasia. I need help with urinary frequency, urgency, and frequent night time urination.
It is too early to tell if the drug is helping. It can three to six months to have the desired effect of reducing prostate swelling.
I am posting because of my concern about side effects. They include reduced libido, erection and ejaculation difficulties, and, in rare cases, high grade prostate cancer. My doctor is confident this is the right move for me, and I have absolute confidence in her.
Has anyone taken this medication? What side effects? How did you respond to side effects?

I’ve also been prescribed Dutas ( global-world-delivery.com/c... ) for BPH, and I understand your concerns about side effects. For me, it took about four months before I noticed a real improvement in my symptoms. The nighttime urination, in particular, got much better.
As for side effects, I did notice a reduction in libido and occasional ejaculation difficulties. These side effects were somewhat bothersome at first, but they became less pronounced over time. I found that maintaining a healthy diet and regular exercise helped mitigate some of these issues.
It’s great that you trust your doctor. Side effects can be worrying, but if you stay in touch with your healthcare provider and monitor your symptoms, you can manage them effectively.
Thanks for your response Weneviq. The medication is helping particularly even very small amounts of caffeine and alcohol. I am living with the side effects which may be tapering some. At age 77, they are not as crucial as 29. Best wishes for continued good health.
