Vagus nerve

I've mentioned it before but I find it very helpful to have a bowel movement when my legs start. I read recently that to reduce blood pressure quickly you should push down as if you want to have a bowel movement. Apparently it does something to the vagus nerve so maybe it could be a key for controlling RLS. Of course everyone is different but it really helps me

Maybe it is the same mechanism as orgasms reducing rls symptoms?

Umm - I don't think so. Organisms release dopamine the pleasure chemical. I can't imagine pressing down would be that pleasurable. 🤣

Actually it helps but make sure you sit on the loo to do it😉

I've read some anecdotal stuff on the vagus nerve and the potential of helping RLS but nothing solid so far. I have one of the home devices and while I do believe it's helped the residual insomnia that is left behind when RLS is managed or mostly managed, I don't think it's helped the RLS directly. I do however think the vagus nerve is fascinating. It seems likely that there could be an actual effective treatment to be found there with some actual targeted research (that could also be wishful thinking ....)
