New book on RLS

I spotted a new book on RLS yesterday at the public library (in San Francsico, CA) called "Navigating Life with Retless Leg Syndrome," by Andrew Spector, MD (2024). It's a skinny paperback, but seemed quite comprehensive, and is written in a friendly, accessible, and not patronizing manner. It warns against the use of dopamine agonists, covers all manners of other medications and therapies, both Western and alternative, as well as drug interactions for other common illnesses. If you're new to RLS, I would recommend it.

He is a neurologist at Duke Health in Durham, NC and will prescribe buprenorphine. He will do video appointments for NC residents and was recommended by a forum member.

This site is wonderful! Very excited about any doctor that does not recommend a dopamine agonist AND gives information about western and alternative medication!! so we’ll just get him, Sue and Doctor B together and we will all be doing much better! 😘.

My RLS has been under control for two years. I saw the book a the public library, as I previously wrote. I skimmed through it, but neither checked it out nor read the whole thing. But I felt that the book was worthwhile, which is why I posted it here, hoping that it might be a helpful resource for some on this site. I would I highly doubt that RLS can be "fixed" with the current medical knowledge, if that's your main question.
