Sue Johnson I can't find what you said about timing of magnesium with gabapentin. Would you please repeat it for me? Many thanks

Sue, I read what you said about when to take magnesium before or after gabapentin and now I can't find it. And I can't remember what you said. I'd really appreciate it if you would state it again. Thank you. Linda

Glad to. If you take magnesium, even in a multivitamin, take it at least 3 hours before or after gabapentin as it interferes with the absorption of gabapentin and if you take calcium don't take it within 2 hours for the same reason.

So good to know as I have been taking it with the gabapentin. I also wish to thank you for your information as it helped be very much when I had my first appointment with a neurologist last week. I had gained 25 lb on pregabalin and neurpro patches. Because of your comments I suggested gabapentin and she decided to prescribe it to replace the pregabalin. She said to wait to ease off the patch until I'd been on the gabapentin for awhile so that there is only one change at a time. I'm looking forward to getting off the patch!

That's great.

Since I haven't replied directly to you I don't know what you have seen.

Have you seen my advice on how to get off Neupro?

Have you seen my advice on how to take gabapentin - ie doses no more than 600 mg 2 hours apart?

Have you seen my advice on ferritin?

Have you seen my advice on things that can make RLS worse and some things that can make it better?

And if you are taking other medicines . . .?

Yes, most of those but not other medicines.

Which ones haven't you seen?

Many medicines and OTC supplements can make RLS worse. If you are taking any I may be able to provide a safe alternative.

teva-nitrafurantoiin, jamp-fer, fesoterodine, vitamin C, cold fx, vitaminE, krill, cranberry, vitamin D, vitamin B complex (and for eyes:dorzo-timop and sandoz-travoprost). Fluticasone to apply to skin prior to application of neupro patches to reduce irritation and taro-mometasone to apply topically to affected areas from patches.

Those are all fine.

The most important thing you might have seen or not seen is how to reduce the Neupro. Have you seen that one?

Sue, what about these two: (1) ibuprofen & pseudoephedrine hydrochloride (Cold and Sinus) and (2) acetaminophen extended release tablets usp 650 mg (Arthritis Pain Relief)? Thanks so much for your help, Linda
