Acetyl-DL-leucine in two individuals with REM sleep behavior disorder improves symptoms, reverses loss of striatal dopamine-transporter binding and stabilizes pathological metabolic brain pattern—case reports:
In 2020, we treated a PD patient, who also suffered from Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) and the phenotype RBD, with the modified amino acid acetyl-D-leucine (ADLL; 5 g/day orally). Within 2 weeks after initiating ADLL treatment, the patient’s RLS symptoms had substantially abated

it is sold OTC in France for treatment of Vertigo. This is fascinating stuff! It is not just Leucine but acetylation changes Leucine's (an amino acid) activity...
I believe it is the same formulation. D and L versions are usually the mirror images of the same molecule. N-acetyl-d,l-leucine is approved in France for vertigo and its l-enantiomer is being developed as a drug for rare and common neurological disorders. This is pretty much complex biochemistry basically using the acetylation to enhance absorption of leucine into organs and cells.
