Has anyone had a bakers cyst that's gone into the calf but not burst? I had an assessment for a blood clot but Dr said it was a bakers cyst. That was February 2020 . The swelling behind my knee has gone but I've got what feels like a bag of fluid in my calf and it's been there 4 years. Both my legs swell badly in the day but the leg with the cyst swells more and hurts. It doesn't get hot or red and it's the same size as the other leg in the morning.

Bakers cyst.
Sounds worrying.
Are you on blood pressure medications?
It may take time but eventually it will drain away. I had a Bakers cyst for some years. Eventually a had a full knee replacement and the cyst returned, but after 5 months it has drained away .
A Baker's cyst is often caused by inflammation in the knee joint, this inflammation could be due to your diet and due to the ingestion of refined seed oils ad refined carbs. Your first course of action shoud be to change your diet to eliminate teh cause of the inflammation, If it's causing severe pain that you can't tolerate for a few years until is the fluid disperses naturally, then you could ask a specialist if may be possible to aspirate the fluid which has travelled down to the calf.
Find doctor that will aspirate the cyst since it is not going away. Do you have a torn meniscus in your knee or other trauma that is causing the cyst? If you don't know, get an MRI to look at knee problems. The swelling is probably from some knee trauma. PRP is helpful if you don't want surgery to fix it. My Baker's cysts in both knees have gone away with PRP into the torn meniscus and my knee is functioning much better with little pain.
