Morning all just an update since my last post. I did as some one said mite help come off my omeprazole and now use vitamin C&D what as helped quite abit . My doctor put me on pregabalin 75mg once twice a day. Made me feel funny and unsteady so dropped it to 25 mg. But only took maybe 5. before I had my next visit with her. She had spocken to the neurologist who said for me to try pramipexole 0.088mg to take 1 tablet 2 hours before bed. I have not taken any yet. Wanted to see if I could do it without taking tablet..but it's not looking like I will be able to. Do I move on to the pramipexole?

You are of course joking?

Just spend the best half-hour of your life reading up about Pramipexol and Dopamine agonists on this site.

Unless you have a strong desire to descend into the abysmal pit of horrors that is augmentation, DO NOT TAKE PRAMIPEXOL.

Or any DA.

Totally agree with Madlegs. There is a reason the world's top experts have stopped prescribing this poison. You WILL experience severely worsened RLS.

Did the neurologist expressly warn you about

1. Augmentation

2 High risk of gambling, spending, hypersexuality ( Impulse Control Disorder).?

Hundreds of UK patients have successfully sued UK doctors and neurologists after they've lost homes, marriages, jobs and lost £££££hundreds of thousands.

Iron therapy is first treatment, then reviewing and replacing trigger meds ( anti depressants, anti histamines, statins, beta blockers, PPI).

First line meds are pregabalin but your GP prescribed it incorrectly. For RLS you start with 75mg at night ONLY. No daytime doses. Then increase by 25mg every otjer night up to 100mg.

Yes, it will make you feel 'funny' for the first few weeks, but you stick with it. Side effects settle after a month.

So restart the pregabalin and take it at night only.

No nothing at all was said just that she had spocken to the neurologist who said I was OK to use them. But I thought I had seen it saying don't take them. That's why I haven't and asked on here 1st.

It seemed like the iron was working for you a few months ago? You should take an iron called ferrous bisglycinate (never ferrous sulfate) about 50mg on an empty stomach about two hours before bed. It should relieve your RLS in 1.5 hours for the night. You must repeat every night.

Neurologists aren't taught anything about RLS, sadly. That's why we hsve a tsunami of UK patients suffering severe RLS on these dangerous drugs. And when they can't get through the hellish withdrawal, the Neurologists and GPs are nowhere to be seen!

It's why I now encourage the thousands of patients suffering gambling on these drugs to sue their doctors. Money talks. Suffering doesn't.

I told you awhile back to not let your doctor prescribe pramipexole or ropinirole. I agree 100% with what the others said including taking the pregabalin and give it several weeks to let the symptoms settle. If after that they don't You might want to try switching to gabapentin. Although they are basically the same drug except you need to divide the doses, and the side effects are basically the same, some people find that the side effects that bother them on one don't bother them on the other. Multiply the pregabalin amount by 6 to get the correct dose. If you need more than 600 mg take the extra 4 hours before bedtime as it is not as well absorbed above 600 mg. If you need more than 1200 mg, take the extra 6 hours before bedtime. If you take magnesium, even in a multivitamin, don't take it within 3 hours of the gabapentin as it reduces the absorption of the gabapentin. If you take calcium don't take it within 2 hours for the same reason.

Not what you're looking for?
