They are seriously considering removing the member search from HealthUnlocked. I contacted them but we need everyone to do so. google HealthUnlocked Support and click on the HealthUnlocked Help Center. At the bottom left click on Help. This opens up a side panel where you can send a message.
This is what I sent:
You are planning on removing the member search and instead making it a community search. This is a very bad idea. It is very inconvenient because if one wants to message someone they won't be able to unless they already can access their profile page from a recent post. For example if someone wants to gives someone the names of a few members who live in their country to contact (message) or the name of someone who used the same doctor they are considering so they can find out about their experience they won't be able to. I use this all the time. PLEASE don't do this as it will hurt the members who need this help.

Done. Staying in HU rather than using a search engine, I found a message box by going to the bottom of the screen (on my laptop), clicking on Help Centre, and then when the box opens selecting Ask (rather than Answers). Screenshot attached.
On the other hand, if using my tablet rather than my laptop, I'd touch 'Menu' bottom right, then 'Get help using this site', and that opens the same box with the same Answers/Ask options... (you may need to use the magnifying glass symbol on the screenshot to see it properly)
BTW SueJohnson , I've just moved from laptop to tablet - I don't know whether this is a change or whether it's always been like this as I don't use Member Search much, but I note that on both my tablet and phone while in Members or Posts I only get a 'search community' box already. You can use this to search for members or posts, but I don't know if it works the same...(screenshot)
I don't have a search community . Only the others - most contributions, new, similar to me, and moderation team which is the new one. I only use my laptop to access Health Unlocked. Later I will try it on my tablet as I have never signed in there.
I have replied to emails directly, but wanted to reply here as well. We haven't removed member search. We’ve moved the search bar to the community header, for mobile devices. This is an experiment to test the impact of moving the search bar.
I will close comments on this post now but if you have any questions or concerns, please do reach out to our support team.
All the best,
BrettHU
