This is for the the administrators really, but important to all of us.
I see that Manerva is no longer showing as a member, which is I imagine is his choice and I have no issue with.
However, I can't find any of his past posts. Is this just me or are member's posts deleted off the forum when they leave. In Manerva's case this is a huge loss of valuable knowledge that we all refer to from time to time and has great relevance to future sufferers.
Also, I was overdue with my subscription and my membership was unexpectedly removed. This was an oversight on my part but I didn't receive any reminders and I found paying the subscription was a difficult operation. Someone mentioned Raffs was missing and I wonder if you have some new automated system that's removing members without adequate reminders. Please send more reminders and warnings and make it easier to pay.
I'm just pointing these issues out. I truly thank all the administrators for the fantastic work they do in providing this excellent forum.
Thanks

Thank you for your message. Manerva is no longer showing as a member of our community on HU as he chose to leave. Since leaving, he very soon reappeared but under another username. A member can change their username twice. All his old threads and replies to members are still here but under the name of "Hidden" as are all other postings and replies from those that have decided to leave in the past. Some members choose to delete all their postings before they leave and in this case , they will no longer be available, but this is rare.
If Raffs is not participating on the forum then he may have left or is just not active on the forum at the moment
There is no subscription to join our HU forum. It is free.
If you wish to become a member of RLS-UK then there is an annual subscription. rls-uk.org/membership Subscriptions are due on 1 August each year. I have a feeling reminders are no longer sent out about paying the annual subscription. It is up to members to remember to subscribe. The few trustees we have are all volunteers, with busy lives of their own, which also includes the admin on this forum.
If you would like to become a volunteer or trustee of RLS-UK please contact Julian Spinks. His email is: chairrlsuk@btinternet.com
The reason I brought up the subscription thing was that about a week ago I stopped receiving the daily email at about 7.00am of the latest posts. I checked my membership and found I'd been removed from the membership page (or at least, that's the impression I had).
I remembered the subscription reminder I'd received and put 2 and 2 together!
I managed to pay the subscription (£15) and then the next day the emails were back again.
So I deduced that my account had expired and I'd been removed.
All a bit bizarre.
Can you tell me where the 'hidden' posts are please, I'm afraid I can't find them.
Thanks again and sorry to say you'd find me a hopeless administrator! But please be assured that your involvement is very much appreciated.
All very bizarre I agree but good to hear all is well now.
As to the postings by people who have left there is no way of finding them other than remembering what the content of the posting was about and using the Search button. Or scrolling through the posts to see if you come across the one(s) you wish to find.
Do paid up members get priority access to some special service?
To answer puzzlers question about posts-- they are not deleted, they remain, but are posted by "hidden" _- so the information is still there but difficult to search for by author. If you search by subject, you will get hundreds of relevant posts.
Slightly better than Buchfurer site where one has to wade through loads a posts to find the particular item you've searched for.! 🥵
It's a pity they can't assign Manerva s' new moniker onto his old posts. Or even just leave them be as they were.
Also, if you search on Google for a specific post or topic with "Manerva" also in the search - old posts will show up as results, but clicking on the result will show Manerva's responses as "Hidden" as Kaarina noted. It might also be that other responses mention Manerva by name and this shows up as a result.
