RLS going crazy before bedtime

I am currently taking 1500 mg of gabapentin. 300 at 5:00, 600 at 7:00, and another 600 at 9:00. After working to get to this dosage, I am sleeping so much better than I have slept in over 40 years. I occasionally wake up during the night with slight twitching of my legs but I put a heated pad on it and usually fall back to sleep immediately. My problem is that for about an hour or two before going to bed, my legs go crazy. Any suggestions? I would really rather not mess with the 1500 of gabapentin.

You may not want to, but I would add another 100 mg to your 5:00 dose.

I’ll give it a try. Thanks, Sue.

Avoid any form of magnesium within 3 hours of Gabapentin.

It’s fun trying to get calcium, magnesium, and gabapentin in without taking any of them in within 2 or 3 hours of each other! I do have a life! Well, maybe I don’t!

You can take calcium with your magnesium.

Probably something you ate at or after your last meat, probably something containing sugar though it could be something starchy like potato as the starch metabolises into sugar in the gut. It could also be something containing artificial preservatives like fruit juice or wine.

Go for a walk, take a warm shower. Those things all help with symptoms. Some people do well with coffee.

I purchased a product on Amazon called Restful Legs by Hylands. It works great for me. Also I bought a magnesium spray which helps too. I spray some in my hands and rub it on my legs.
