I have read that gabapentin side effects can go away after one or two weeks. I was taking 600 mg of gabapentin while coming off ropinirole which I am now off of. It helped me sleep at night but did not stop my restless legs, nor the pain I had in my legs during the day. So experimenting, I tried 900 mg 3 times a day, taking 300 mg 2 hours before the 600 mg. It worked beautifully. Restless legs gone and pain gone. But I am dizzy. What's your experience with this going away after 1 to 2 weeks?

What's your experience with gabapentin side effects going away?
Please can you clarify how much gabapentin you're taking?
You say 900mg 3 times a day which is a total of 2700mg, is that correct?
I foubd the main side effects when I first started gabapentin were drowsiness and dizziness and if I recall correctly these faded after about 4 weeks. I stll have some slight blurred vision from it,which doesn't hinder me at all.
Yes 2700 mg.
That's quite a lot, the maximum, for RLS anyway. You may find then that side effects are more persistent.
I have decided I increased it too quickly. I am going to go back and only increase my total by 300 every 3 days and see if that helps. I had no dizziness when taking only 1000/day. Also, darn it, as the day wore on, I realized the pain in my legs is not gone after
all.
Sorry about the pain.
I have been asked to help but I have never taken gabapentine sorry wish I could help. Im sure there are a lot of people who will be able to help you I wish you well JuneB
Severe dizziness and nausea on my Fathers situation last few months. Really quite frequent . The Gabapentin produced this side effect, I have no doubt however, again, I need too add, this medication was forcibly added to his prescription when Co codamol was withdrawn. He was perfectly content with this medication. Like my Mother, he would only take 6. His timing was 8am 4pm and two at 9pm. Then bed. And they now refuse him of relief. This is why it is angering and frustrating me observing this.
