I’ve had RLS for 32yrs now and I can manage it without drugs. But now at 62 my hips and pelvis hurt at night and when I begin to walk. My X-ray showed nothing Dr said probably arthritis and my primary called it bursitis. I’m worried I might have to use a cane. Any advice is appreciated.

If you experience pain when you walk, that doesn't sound as though it's linked to RLS. Movement stops RLS pain.It sounds more like arthritis or rheumatism. If using a cane helps relieve the pain, then use it.
Do anti inflammatory pain killers relieve the pain?
As you're in the USA, perhaps try cannabis. It's really good for joint pain.
Hello, I also had hip pain while laying down; it was for 2 years before my xrays showed osteoarthritis. It was alleviated by doing routine deep hip stretches, and rolling out all hip/butt muscles on a foam roller. Yes its correct that walking and exercise will lubricate your joints and are helpful for hip pain. Use the cane or walking sticks but try to keep moving every day. Oh and try not to limp or other joints will start to hurt like knees. I've had a hip replacement this year and am back to my sporty self 😊 at 63 yrs old. Best of luck with your situation.
Thank You so much for the advice. I’m also trying not to sleep on my hips.
I am a side sleeper too so put an extra pillow between your knees at night to keep your hips aligned. You likely already do this but just incase... and cannabis oil before bed helps sleep and pain. I take one with CBN oil plus THC. Try to avoid taking anti-inflammatory meds as they worsen RLS immediately.
