Talked to my Doctor and he felt that taking Dipyridamole as needed was OK. In two months I have had three bad nights. To me a bad night is going to bed and getting back up in 10 minutes, when ya know ya know.
So that is the good news. I am also going for a blood test next week, that should be interesting as well. I have been taking Ferrous Bisglycinate every night (36mg). My last test was a year ago.

I'm really pleased for you that it is working. I'm assuming that you can't work out what the triggers are for those 3 nights? Some people have food/ alcohol triggers.Or it could be another medication .And perhaps like me it is ideopathic and you have no idea.
A couple nights ago was bad because that day I got my fourth bee sting of the year. My second bee sting this year involved an ambulance ride to the hospital. So I have to take precautions which included a lot of Benadryl. Normally I handle Benadryl well, this time I didn’t.
The other two times I don’t remember. I’m sure there was some trigger involved. Getting over tired is a big one.
Thank you, I did not know that. I ride bicycles a lot. I get stung every year. I’m told this year the bees are aggressive. My Doctor has seen more than usual.
My record is five in one year, I have had four this year so far.
I’m getting a prescriptions for prednisone to sit on the shelf, just in case. I know personally prednisone is bad for RLS. Bee stings swelling up can be bad too.
That's really interesting. Thanks for sharing the news. I'm delighted it's helpful. So you take dipyridamole on an 'as needed' basis, and not continuously every night? What dose do you take and at what time?
I found for me, 225mg of Dipyridamole works in about one hours time to calm things down. I don’t want to abuse it. I just want my RLS to go away. If my RLS was really bad I would take ibuprofen as well. Sometimes just ibuprofen helps. Again I am not a fan of ibuprofen but it does help me.
I think ibuprofen is over looked, at the same time I remember when it was suggested I had some bad thoughts. Ibuprofen can help.
hi widebody ibuprofen helps me very much but my doc says not to take them as it affects my kidneys [they leak protein ] I already take pills for high B/P that affects kidneys so not to take another.... but sometimes i just have to ignore the doc heres hoping you find relief xxx
Pretty much exactly what my Doctor says. Either outcome is bad, which is worse. I really don't take that much ibuprofen. I had three bad nights in two months. 600mg each time.
That is good to hear, I`m going to ask my GP in the near future for a trial of Dipyridamole, rather than go back on Pregabalin, knowing he will feel unable to allow me a proper Opioid.
Just a note, the way Dipyridamole works is it increases intercellular adenosine. Low adenosine is caused by a long term brain iron deficiency. If you’re one of us “low iron” people, I would recommend trying Dipyridamole.
