hello - I started taking the accord brand of buprenorphine last night having moved from the morningside make because those tablets were small and difficult to cut…… after half a tablet I had panic / shakiness that I hadn’t experienced with the morningside tablets…. After three x half tablets (0.6mg) I felt sick and the nausea has carried on today… so much so that I have actually gone back to bed….
I know people have experienced nausea and panic when first taking buprenorphine but what about when moving between brands??? I’m very confused and don’t know what to do next apart from persevere and hope my body gets used to it. Does anyone know why this might have occurred?? Maybe more of the substance is being absorbed into my body??? Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks

I can't comment on why you suddenly developed nausea with Accord, but not with morningside. But I had severe nausea for 10 days with Accord when I first started. My medical cannabis stopped it. You may need to ask for Zofran, but only hospitals can prescribe it. Many anti nausea pills worsen RLS, but Qwells sea sickness are safe. I also developed severe panic attacks about 4 or 5 weeks after starting Buprenorphine. I took a 25mg pregabalin pill at night and it completely stopped the anxiety/panic.
Perhaps you are getting more Buprenorphine in your system from the Accord brand?
Morningside are impossible to cut so I understand why you switched brands.
Sandoz also do a 0.4mg pill so you could try that as well to see if it stops the panic / nausea.
I have to admit I'm stumped. Maybe the Accord brand is stronger than Morningside, so try reducing to 0.5 or 0.4mg to see if it covers the RLS, but reduces the nausea.
Thanks Jools it’s a mystery to me too ….I still have some morningside ones so I will combine them for a bit… half an accord and a whole morningside. I was on the morningside for four weeks and before thst on the patch for about 5 weeks. I’ve definitely come too far to give up so I will persevere - it would seem like more buprenorphine is getting into my system with the accord - maybe it dissolves more effectively - thanks for your help
