Have finally made the move to Gabapentin after ten weeks coming off pramipexole. My doctor suggested starting on 300 mg taken three times per day. The first day I had time to take two tablets.
Interesting results: slept three hours then woke twitching . Fell asleep after a further ten minutes and then slept through until 10am (8 hours sleep!). Not what I was expecting.
Getting up, I was a bit unsteady on my legs, but my mood was hopeful. It also helped that the sun was out. Will keep you posted on progress.

I was hoping you might comment Sue. I was wondering whether I needed to take them three times per day. I’m not sure what I have during the day; it’s difficult to describe : a real tiredness in the thighs and slight tremor ( also just in the thighs). It will be interesting to see how things develop. Thanks again for dropping in. Appreciated
As Sue says, no need to take in the day. For RLS, symptoms flare up with the drop in dopamine between 6pm and 6am. Most doctors follow pain prescribing guidelines.Take as per RLS-UK website & Mayo Clinic guidance at night a few hours before bed, in split doses of 600mg 2 hour's apart.
Start with 600mg at night and see how you respond. You may not need a higher dose. The dizziness settles after a few weeks.
