Hi to all who replied to my Sleeping pills, thankyou. I have tried other Sleeping pills in the past with no great outcome, just wonder if there is any meds that can make me sleep when my RLS is severe.
No help at all: Hi to all who replied... - Restless Legs Syn...
No help at all
Have you tried ambien (zolpidem, stilnoct) ? It is not a benzodiazepine. I take it occasionally when my pulsatile tinnitis is bad and it knocks me out and I sleep like a baby. I don't know if it is any better than others but I did take clonazepam in the past which did not work anywhere near as well for me.
Hi SueJohnson, no I haven't tried this medication ,last night I took 1 Pregabalin, then a few hours later I took 2 cocodamol ,then near 1am I took 2 more cocodamol, I slept for about 6 hours which was great. You mentioned Pulsatile tinnitus,I do sometimes get this, didn't know there was an actual name for it,it's so annoying and a bit scary, may I ask if you take medication for this?
No. I will be seeing a doctor in late April. I don't think there is any medicine for it unless a cause is found for it which in most cases there isn't. It is definitely annoying. The last 2 nights I woke up at 3 am because of it and couldn't get back to sleep and I can't use ambien too often plus if I had I would have been knocked out way past the time I normally get up. Glad you got some sleep last night.
Thankyou for replying, I didn't think the Pregabalin was helping with my RLS so I rang my surgery hoping to get a face to face app.no such luck, the gp rang me so I explained my situation, without hesitation she decided she would take me off Pregabalin and start me on Ropinirole, wasn't really interested in my thoughts or opinions on this😱,prescribed a sleeping tab.told me to ring again in two weeks .I've decided to help myself ie one Pregabalin and two cocodamol twice at night,I really feel that I know better than the gp what works for me because of the advice and information on this forum.
As you probably know ropinirole is a dopamine agonist like pramipexole. Was she the same doctor when you came off pramipexole? If so can you explain this to her or have you tried and she won't listen.
I take codeine-acetaminophen. I take it when I awake in the middle of the night with RLS. It's not strictly a sleeping pill, but it does give me 3 to 4 hours of solid sleep and stops the RLS, for which I'm very grateful. No hangovers, either!
Hi nocturne,I take two 30/500mg co-codamol some nights, last night I took one 75mg Pregabalin about 8.30ish then two cocodamol 10.30ish,I then took two more cocodamol near 1am,I slept for around six hours and no RLS yippee, gonna try this ,hopefully will be the same tonight, I will deal with the constipation, good luck.
Yaay! Glad it worked. Sounds like a lot of co-codamol, though . . . if you could reduce it even a little, the GI problems will be lessened. But haha, you already know that. Best wishes!
Oh, sorry. In the US where I live, we call gastrointestinal problems (e.g. constipation) GI problems for short. Also in the US, they recommend no more than 1 codeine (30) pill every 6 hours. But maybe the formulation is different in the UK. Also, everyone is different, so I'm glad you found the right dose for you.
I know what you mean. Best wishes to you!
