I've just ordered a Therapulse in desperation but am sceptical about how effective it will be. Any views? I'm on a particularly bad phase at the moment not getting any sleep until about 5 am and I'm exhausted.

Therapulse
Some people have found it helps, particularly against less extreme symptoms, but some not. If you bought from Therapulse themselves there's a money back guarantee I believe.
Therapulse wont cure your RLS, it *may* make it more tolerable. Hopefully you're following the advice given by Joolsg, SueJohnson and others to your previous post.
Yes thanks. I'm trying to get hold of the iron supplement but nowhere locally had the ferrous bisglycerate so have had to send of for it. Will get bloods done as soon I can.
Ferrous bisglycinate is available in most chemists and health food shops branded 'Gentle Iron' but hopefully your order will arrive soon. If you get it before you can arrange the morning blood test, make sure that you stop taking it 48 hours before the test and that you have fasted overnight.
Be sure you post back here when you get your ferritin.
Take 50 mg to 75 mg (which is elemental iron) of iron bisglycinate with 100 mg of vitamin C or some orange juice since that helps its absorption. Take it every other day, preferably at night at least 1 hour before a meal or coffee or tea and at least 2 hours after a meal or coffee or tea since iron is absorbed better on an empty stomach and the tannins in coffee and tea limit absorption. If you take magnesium, calcium or zinc, even in a multivitamin take them at least 2 hours apart since they interfere with the absorption of iron. Also antacids interfere with its absorption so should be taken at least 4 hours before the iron or at least 2 hours after. Don't take your iron tablets before or after exercise since inflammation peaks after a workout, don't take tumeric as it can interfere with the absorption of iron or at least take it in the morning if you take your iron at night. If you take thyroid medicine don't take it within 4 hours. It takes several months for the iron tablets to slowly raise your ferritin. Ask for a new blood test after 3 months after you have the one you are about to have.
I tried the Therapulse but did not find it to make any noticeable difference. So I returned it within the 10 day limit and go my money back. I have a stand-on vibration machine which gets me tired after 10 minutes (it cycles up and down various frequencies) and so it generally helps me to sleep. However I do have severe RLS and so not much really helps me, in fact nothing solves it for me!
Hi Jauny i have the therapulse and been using it a while now. I have severe RLS but a low tolerance to meds so the therapulse is helpful when i am awake with RLS it definitely works for me. I use it night or day. No it’s not a cure nothing is. I hope you get the iron supplements soon and they help you.
Ii find it helpful if symptoms are mild /moderate it takes the edge of enough most times for me to get back to sleep I am going to buy a 2nd one eventually so I have it for both legs !
Therapulse works for me. Don't expect a cure, but it settles me enough to be able to get back to sleep if RLS breaks through. I have an image of the vibrations confusing the neural pathways that RLS uses, and it crawls back into its hole.
I have been using Therapulse for a few months now and it still works for me...10 mins plus on each leg if I have RLS...doesn't stop RLS while using it always, but after I'm able to sleep with out RLS. However, the new garlic and ginger paste I'm eating is even better and really helps prevent RLS ..eat small amounts during afternoon and evening ..recipe in previous posts...worth a try if you can cope with the taste!
Therapulse is great at "distracting" your legs.I found you need two & as soon as my rls started I would strap them on to each thigh, set them going & get back into bed.
I left them on and fell asleep with them on.
In my opinion you do need 2 and you do need to leave them on (10 minutes doesn't cut it).
I highly recommend them as a distraction.
I fall asleep with them on my right leg is the worse so only use it on that leg first then if the left leg starts then i use another one. They do seem to interrupt the RLS sensations. Maybe continuing use they may like anything else lose effect.
I just received my Therapulse. Can you tell me where the most effective placement is on your leg and which mode have you found to work best. Thanks
I use it on my calf as that’s where i usually get the RLS i use no 8 as i find that works best for me. Think you will need to try each setting to see which one works for you.
Once strapped on, does Therapulse stay on, or automatically shut off after a certain amount of time? My vibrating pads shut off, which I don't want because then I wake up because the heebie-jeebies return when the vibrating stops. Is Therapulse a corded device, i.e. doesn't use batteries? Thank you!
The therapulse stays on until it runs out if charge- not sure how long thst is yet! It's charged by USB. Hope thst helps.
If you fall 😴 with them going then they go on vibrating until the batteries run out.In the morning you just recharge your batteries.
They last an hr and take an hr to charge that’s why you need more than one i only bought one to try and didn’t have the money to buy a second one money was tight but a lovely member on here didnt need his anymore and donated them to me. So i have 3 and keep them charged up when one stops i have another to use
I agree with everyone that it certainly is not a cure but I use mine to help whilst waiting for medication to kick in or when wearing off and it’s too soon to take next dose. I also use Harrogate Organics Natural Repair Magnesium Oil Spray from harrogateorganics.co.uk for the same relief. I have tried many magnesium sprays and, in my opinion this is by far the best. Again for relief only but it does help. Anything is worth a try!
