After bilateral hip replacement in 2015, I developed RLS in both legs, seem to hit at once when it attacks. Mainly at night of course or during meetings or when I'm still too long.
I take a plant product called kratom. It might not be legal in all states but is in mine (for now). I learned about it by a friend as a substitute for pain, and realized it was getting me through the night without an attack.
I tried to get off of it at one time to see if the RLS would go away naturally. It didn't work and came back with a vengence! I have read of people taking all kinds of nasty stuff, even morphine.
I joined here to tell my story if I can provide even a little relief.I take more than someone starting out. I recommend researching the dose. I take Red Bali kratom at night before bed because that is when it attacks the worse, and the red vein leaf helps for sleeping.
This stuff will give the same effect as taking a pain killer, but it's natural. Do some research and get on forums. The medical community doesn't always take too kindly. I quit my doctor because of it. Now I have a doctor who believes in natural medicine.
It will make you sick if you take too much. I take the same amount every night, and very rarely does the RLS break through it. Better than nasty drugs...
Good luck!
