Tramadol works!!!!

I’ve been taking tramadol for almost 20 years now and it works. We moved to a different state and had a hard time getting a doctor to prescribe it. For two months I suffered without it. I finally got a doctor to prescribe it and again my RLS was 100% better. Tramadol has a bad rap because 5 years ago it was classified as an opioid. I’m 77 years old and the doctors were worried I would become addicted. Wouldn’t that be terrible if I had to take it for the rest of my life? Tramadol works!

I started with 100 mg in 2002, increase to 200mg in 2010, in 2015 I started using 300 mg. Moved to Wisconsin in 2019 and went for awhile with none and it was tough. Finally got a doctor who gave me 200 mg in February of 2020. Worked for while but then she decreased the amount to 100 mg (for my own good). This worked about 90% of the time but then in January of 2021 she decided to cut me off. This time I went to a sleep clinic and put me back on tramadol (100 mg) and 1 mg ofPramipexole and all is good.

BTW do you know about augmentation and dopamine agonists? Others will be able to advise you whether 1mg is a high dose of Pramipexole.

1 mg pramipexole is twice the recommended dose. Have you thought about getting off it? Up to 70% of people will eventually suffer augmentation according to the Mayo Clinic Updated Algorithm on RLS which believe me you don't want because it can be hell to come off it and the longer you are on it, and the higher dose you are on the harder it will be to come off it. Check out the Mayo Clinic Updated Algorithm on RLS which discusses augmentation and the latest guidelines on RLS treatment.

I took .5 MG twice a day and my new doctor suggested I try 1 MG once a day and so far okay. I'll read up on this and mention it to doctor on next visit, thanks for the tip.

So glad you have found something that works! My worst nightmare is to be without opioids to help control my RLS.
