Has anyone tried Dipyridamole for RSL
Kind Regards Shumba
Involuntary Dancer and Lotte have tried dipyridamole so have a look at their posts.
I don’t think it was effective on its own for their RLS.
Shumbah, use the search function to find posts and replies on rls and dipyridamole. You’ll find the relevant information, links to papers and involuntarydancer’s experiences quickly enough. As far as I know she’s the only one on this forum who had it prescribed and used it for a while. Good luck.
If you’ll get it prescribed as well and will take it, please share your experiences! I am really interested.
Yes. I am not aware that it helped much, but at the time I was still taking pramipexole, and a number of factors have led me to believe that pramipexole interferes with the action of other drugs.
Perhaps I should try again.
No I haven't -sorry
Yes. As others have said, I tried it. I posted extensively about it so put dipyridamole in the search bar and you’ll find a lot from me about it.
Regarding Parminter’s point, I think it’s quite likely she’s correct about pramipexole interfering with other drugs (there are studies that show the a2d ligands can be less effective for those who previously augmented on a dopamine agonist which might also support the theory), but specifically in relation to dipyridamole, I used it when I was completely ‘clean’ of pramipexole and also when I was taking pramipexole and I didn’t notice much difference in the impact of the dipyridamole.
I currently take it and it's AMAZING!! I take it along with buprenorphine and Horizant and it completely gets rid of my RLS! And maybe it has to be taken with these other two meds for it to work, but I can tell you that before adding the dipyridamole, only taking the buprenorphine and Horizant didn't make my RLS go away. It is a lifesaver and I thank my neurologist for prescribing it for me. If the buprenorphine stops working as well for you by itself, please talk to your doctor about adding dipyridamole. Good luck and I hope all is well with you, my friend!
