I read some posts that buprenorphine helped some people with their RLS. Is there anyone in India who is using it? Can you please share how you got it in India ( or which doctor you consulted to get the prescription for it). Because a few doctors I asked so far told me the tablets are not available . Even if they are, they had no knowledge of the tablets. If I can come to know the name of any doctor who knows about buprenorphine tablets and has maybe even already prescribed them to someone else for RLS or other issues, it will help.
(5 mg patch might be available...can it be used in place of tablets? If so, how wud it be used and how long would one patch last?)

There are different brands of buprenorphine (tablets). The sublingual ones are Temgesic (0.2 an 0.4mg I think) and Subutex (1 and 2mg). And indeed there are patches (Butrans, maybe other names as well). There are patches that last 3 or 4days, or that last 7 days. The thing with patches is that dosing is less easily adjusted. Patches appear to come in 5-50mcg/h. I know of 6 people on this forum that are or were on a buprenorphine patch. Their doses were mainly 5 or 15 mcg/h patches. One person is on a 35mcg/h patch, but he also has fibromyalgia.
I hope this help. Unfortunately I know nothing about availability of meds in India.
Would you be having any idea who that other member from India might be (for whom that post was written, who was searching for buprenorphine in India a month ago)? Maybe I could send them a message asking if/how they got it, as they may not be visiting the forum n hence may not see this post.
Finally I have found you , Yes Buprenorphine is available in India about 17 brands
The 5 mg patch will last 7 days I would cover it with micropore tape to help protect it from the climate and stop it crinkling. My daughter where’s a buprenorphine patch higher dose fir a different reason she is awaiting surgery.
My concern about the patch for RLS 5 mg is very high dose and you really could suffer some side effects starting so high. They say not to cut it however I know people who do . I would cut it into 5 which equals 1 mg each or even smaller initially and then build up to 2 mg.
Trust me you will know when it works as your legs will be peaceful.
Please ensure you get some Zofram before you Start in case of nausea.
If you do use the patch never tell them you use less than 5 mg as it can be hard to get and if you lose a patch as my daughter did when her todler ripped it off her in the pool , she did not have enough to last the month.
Alternatively the other end of the spectrum much lower dose Buprenorphine in tablet form name
ADDNOK 0.2 mg appears to come in 20 pack and sublingual which you pop under your tongue.
Once again do not take full dose on first night you can read my post on dosage . Really important to start slow .
I cut mine into about 8/10 tiny crumbs and add one every 15 min until desired effect this helps ease side effects when starting / adds absorption , tastes much better also it helps to personalise your dose.
From what I can see you may be able to buy this online if not ask your pharmacist how best to access worse case you pain clinic.
You can send me private message on here and let me know how you go accessing buprenorphine in one of its forms and if you need help weaning on.
Most popular dose is .2 mg please don’t start this high
Don’t forget the Zofram for nausea, and miralax which draws water to your bowelincase you suffer contipation.
I do need Miralax on 2 mg
My daughter dose not on 15 mg patch.
Truly wishing you all the best and hope to hear from you
