We are thinking about moving to Nottingham and was wondering whether anyone is currently prescribed the Buprenorphine (Patch)?
My husband has been prescribed the patch by his GP (after a lot of convincing and stress), but we don't want to move and then be back at square one with a new GP who refuses to prescribe it.
It's classed as "Amber 3 - Primary care/ non specialist may initiate as per APC guideline", but like many other counties, Buprenorphine isn't licensed for RLS.
We currently live an hour away in Derbyshire, but our GP has a notice about not letting people stay on as an out of area patient.
I really wish the UK wasn't such a gamble with healthcare, and especially with RLS.
Any advice or recommendations would be great, thanks!

Here I am. I was on a patch but for 2 years I have been prescribed Buprenorphine sub lingual. I take 4 x 200 mcg daily. Mine was prescribed by my Neurologist who is in London. Professor Walker. My Gp was reluctant to prescribe without a Neurologist initially.
I live in Nottingham and I have both been prescribed the buprenorphine patch and buprenorphine sublingual tablets. I am currently using the sublingual tablets.
I was originally prescribed DAs by my neurologist but eventually suffered augmentation . I have an excellent doctor who was willing to listen to me and having come off DAs I tried Gabapentin and Pregabalin They didn’t work so she was happy to prescribe buprenorphine. However she had to get the go ahead from my neurologist first.
I don’t think that some of the other doctors at my surgery would have so readily agreed to recommending it though! The good thing is they are allowed to prescribe it if they want to.
