Methadone 10mg resolved my RLS for years. Gradually supplemented it with THC to relax before bed, and Recently took too much THC and went into panic short of breath feeling. Ativan took care of it. Thought I’d be back to normal (stopped THC), but now short of breath every night. Ativan every night not a good option. Had full heart lung check and all healthy. Doc says it’s psychological. Difficult psyching myself out of this heavy tight breath feeling. Might need sleep pill or something. Methadone solves restless legs but heavy breathing now keeps me awake. Any solutions?

Based only on what you've written and without further detail, I'd suggest your difficulty is due to anxiety.
Rather than taking drugs which simply masks this, I suggest you try a breathing meditation.

Thank You. Any suggestions
I would suggest that both the rls and breathing problems are due to inflammation and that the drugs have been merely masking the effects of the inflammation. The mort likely cause of the inflammation is your diet, so look up an anti inflammatory diet, this mainly low carb but there are a few other foods which cause inflammation like refined vegetable oils.
