Ok so I've been reading some posts about cbd with thc. I'm in NJ and as of Jan 1, 2021 it will be legal (yay). It's funny but I have never been into any type of marijuana but boy has that changed due to my RLS problem. Anyway, do gummies work? What dose would anyone suggest? What brands? And any other info please share. I haven't read all of the posts but if a few could pinpoint their usage, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

CBD with THC
Well there is great confusion in the labeling of Hemp and Cannibus Products. Hemp products (with CBD oil) - often touted for sleep and pain - do not contain any (or very little) THC, the active component in Cannibus. Also there are full spectrum and isolates of CBD oil.
The Cannibus products that will become legal in your State WILL contain THC - the component that produces the marijuana high as well as a smaller percentage of the CBD oil that Hemp has. Many strains have been bred to produce very high amounts of THC. 1970s pot had maybe 5% THC, modern pot has more like 30%!
From what I read on this forum - you will need some amount of THC to be effective. Most users (including me) that have tried Full Spectrum CBD - have not found it being very effective for RLS or insomnia.
You should be able to purchase differing strains of Cannibus with differing amounts of of CBD and THC. Also differing strains are calming or excitable. So, maybe just try CBD Full Spectrum (it's legal now) - then move into THC products when they become available.
I tried the CBD oil 2 separate times from different distributors. Each trial was 90 days w/6 months off between. Neither had THC in them. I did not get any RLS, fibromyalgia pain or insomnia relief either time. My body just does not utilize it as some others have experienced. It is worth a try to avoid strong medications w/side effects.
Yes. Gummies will work. But edibles can take anywhere from 30 minutes (unusually fast, in my experience) to 2 hours to kick in. There isn't really a "standard" doseage for RLS because the effect on people can widely vary. However, the effects of edibles last much longer than any other method of consuming cannibis. If you seek immediate - and by immediate, I mean 15-30 minutes - relief then I advise going with a tincture. Remember, the perfect dose for you will require some experimentation. But you will know when you've reached it by the relief of your symptoms (in this case RLS) without feeling high. The effects of cannabis, no matter how you choose to consume it, are cumulative. In other words, you may not experience relief with a single dose, but keep at it for a few days before you decide to raise your dose. I advise my clients who are not accustomed to the effects of THC to take it (I distribute a tincture) 30 minutes before retiring. It is easier to control your dose with a tincture because you can just add or subtract a drop at a time.
Just an FYI, it takes me about 2 hours to feel the effect of tinctures. However, if I smoke a full spectrum CBC (without THC) “cigarette” I feel the effect immediately. I hate the idea of smoking but it works. I’ve bought the organic brand Hemptrance which is available online.
