Hello,
I'm sorry to hear about the issues you have with your feet.
I think RLS presents differently for different people, and can appear in different parts of the body. The thing that is the same for everyone is that it causes an irresistible urge to move the affected part, in order to stop the discomfort/pain/sensation etc. What happens when you move your feet?
Have you seen a doctor or specialist? And have you had any blood tests to rule out any deficiencies? It would be helpful to get a bit more information such as if you are on any medication and if you have had your iron ferritin levels checked.
As Sampsie asks, does moving your feet provide relief? If so then it’s possibly RLS but you need to rule out peripheral neuropathy- pins and needles is more commonly associated with PN.
Hi I have it in my feet. Started when I was 4-5 yrs old. It drove me insane in my teens. That's when I had it in both feet at the same time. Now 47 yrs later, still have it but it alternates from one foot to the other. Pramipexole helps me. Wish I knew about it years ago. Have you had blood tests to rule out anaemia?
Let us know if you can how you get on once you get your tests back.
I will thanks
I get it only in my right leg, my big toe and my genitals. The feeling in my toe is kind of a weird feeling and to get some relief I press the tip of my toe into the ground. I have even wrapped elastic bands round my toe till it is numb or I put a clothes peg on it. On really bad nights I put ice packs on my genitals which is horrible but still preferrable to the other feeling.
Hello,
I am sorry to hear you are suffering with this problem. I have RLS in my feet and hands only, but its more prominent in my feet. I have it like a crawling feeling with discomfort and it does ease with movement but it can last a while and It tends to happen at night and I can never be bothered to move my feet during the night when I am trying to sleep! But if I walk or press toes into floor then it helps whilst I do this. I think it affects people slightly differently though.
I had blood tests done and found it wasn't a deficiency but its best to get bloods done as sometimes factors like iron deficiency can be part of the problem. There are medications that can help also but I am trying with lifestyle changes, I have found that a heavy blanket, warm baths, more stretching and light exercise, and reducing caffeine alcohol and sugar have helped a bit but I am still trying different things and haven't been doing these change for long just a few weeks. Some people say a cold compress can help, others say warmth to the area helps. Hope some of this information might be of help
Thank you so much
